Higgsfield AI Pricing Explained: Plans, Credits per Video, and What 200 Credits Buy

Higgsfield's September 15, 2026 guide lists Starter at $15 a month for 200 credits, Plus at $49 for 1,000 and Ultra at $129 for 3,000. There is no trial, and the free tier includes no credits. Here is what a credit buys in video, and which plan runs out first.

The sticker says $15. The render counter says otherwise.

A two-person skincare brand wants ten usable test videos for next month's Meta campaign. The first number it finds is the one Higgsfield prints in its own pricing guide: Starter at $15 a month for 200 credits. That part is easy.

The number that sets the budget sits a few paragraphs lower. The same guide, dated September 15, 2026, prices one eight-second 1080p Seedance 2.5 take at 72 credits. Higgsfield's help article on Seedance says that model isn't included in Starter at all. And Higgsfield's own testing puts one usable clip at three to five generations.

Here is the short version. Higgsfield sells monthly and annual plans that each carry a pool of credits, and every generation spends credits according to its model, resolution and length. The September 15 guide lists Starter at $15 a month for 200 credits, Plus at $49 for 1,000 and Ultra at $129 for 3,000. There is no trial period. The free tier lets you generate on a small set of models but includes no credits, so any paid-model render needs a subscription.

A disclosure before the detail: we make Novoads, an AI UGC ad tool that competes with Higgsfield for some of the same buyers. So every figure below comes from Higgsfield's own guides and help centre, read on September 17, 2026, and carries the date of the page it came from. Where two Higgsfield pages disagree, you get both.

Higgsfield's plans and prices, line by line

Starter, Plus and Ultra, as the September guide lists them

Higgsfield's guide to credits and unlimited plans says its prices were verified on September 11, 2026. It lists three individual plans that stack access differently:

PlanPrice in the guideCredits a monthUnlimited on the plan
Starter$15/mo200None
Plus$49/mo or $39 annual1,000Six image models, 365 days
Ultra$129/mo or $99 annual3,000Same set, more windows

The guide adds four details the table compresses:

  • Plus pairs its 365-day set of six image models with a 7-day window on Nano Banana 2.
  • Ultra adds windows on Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2.
  • Annual billing adds a Kling 3.0 window on both paid tiers.
  • Free generation pools for Soul V2 and Soul Cinema run from 3,000 to 10,000, depending on the plan.

Higgsfield's help centre frames the ladder in words rather than numbers: entry-level plans include core generation models, and higher plans unlock every model on the platform, including the latest releases. It also runs a second ladder for companies. Team, Scale and Enterprise pool credits across seats; Team and Scale are bought from the pricing page, and Enterprise goes through the sales team.

What one credit costs on each plan

The plans look like one product at three sizes until you divide. Cost per credit = plan price ÷ monthly credits.

  • Starter: 7.5 cents a credit.
  • Plus: 4.9 cents a credit monthly, 3.9 cents on annual billing.
  • Ultra: 4.3 cents a credit monthly, 3.3 cents on annual billing.

When the guide converts credits into dollars, it works at roughly 5 cents a credit: 72 credits is "about $3.60" in its words. That is close to Plus on monthly billing. The same 72 credits are about $5.40 of Starter's allowance and about $2.38 of Ultra's on annual billing, so the plan you hold changes what a take really costs you by more than 2x.

Why the Starter figure deserves a second look

Three things make the $15 line softer than the other two.

  1. One price, not two. The guide gives Plus and Ultra a monthly and an annual figure, but Starter gets a single $15.
  2. An older Higgsfield figure. Higgsfield's June 26, 2026 guide to all-in-one subscriptions, with prices verified in June 2026, put Starter at $9 a month for 120 credits, and its own comparison table called that $9 plan Basic.
  3. Promos and taxes. Higgsfield says a promo price applies only to the first payment before the plan renews at the standard price, and that the price on its pricing page doesn't include taxes.

Higgsfield's help centre settles which number binds: its pricing page "always shows the current plans and prices." Treat any blog figure, including the ones in this post, as a dated snapshot, and read the checkout before you budget. For a vendor-neutral way to compare credit plans, our explainer on how AI video credits work walks through the method.

What one generation costs in credits

Model, resolution and length set the price

Higgsfield's help centre says every generation costs credits depending on the model, resolution and duration, and that the exact cost shows on the Generate button before you confirm. That is the only number you can fully trust, and Higgsfield puts it in front of you every time. Four rules shape it:

  • Sound costs nothing extra on Seedance. Higgsfield's Seedance article says the sound toggle doesn't change the cost of a generation.
  • Batches multiply. A batch size of 2, 3 or 4 charges each output separately.
  • Failures mostly refund. Credits for a failed generation usually come back within minutes, though Higgsfield says specific models might not refund.
  • Grok is the exception. Higgsfield says Grok generations are charged the moment they start.

The generation prices Higgsfield has published

For exact costs, Higgsfield's help centre points you to that button. What its guides have published are the costs of specific runs:

Each row is one run on one date, not a price list. If Seedance 2.5 is new to you, our explainer on what Seedance 2.5 does covers the 30-second model itself.

Where Higgsfield's own Seedance numbers disagree

Put the two Seedance 2.5 figures on a per-second basis and they split. The September 15 guide's 72 credits for eight seconds is 9 credits a second. The August 14 guide's 270 credits for fifteen seconds is 18 credits a second, twice the rate at the same 1080p.

The runs differ in three ways. They are a month apart. The August video went through Higgsfield's ChatGPT plugin, which the guide says costs credits at standard rates. And the August run fed the video two generated references, a creator and a product shot. Neither page reconciles the two numbers. Until your own Generate button says otherwise, budget ad video at the higher rate: a plan that looks generous at 9 credits a second is half the size at 18.

Is Higgsfield free? The free tier, the trial and the refund

The free tier includes models, not credits

Higgsfield's plans article answers the most searched question in one line: "You can generate without a paid plan, but access is limited to a small set of models and doesn't include credits." Two more rules from the help centre complete the picture:

  • Watermarked output. On a free account, every generation carries a Higgsfield watermark. Paid plans come without one.
  • No credits without a plan. Higgsfield says credits can't be used without an active subscription.

So Higgsfield is free to explore, not free to run ads on. An ad maker who needs a specific video model and output without a watermark is on a paid plan from the first render.

There is no trial period

The same article asks "Is there a free trial before buying a subscription?" and answers: "There's no trial period." You explore on the free tier's limited models, then upgrade. Each account supports one active subscription at a time, and an upgrade takes effect immediately with a prorated charge.

The refund window is the closest thing to a test

Higgsfield's refund rules are strict, and they matter more than usual because there is no trial:

  • Initial purchases only, within 7 days or as the law in your jurisdiction permits, and only if no credits have been used.
  • A service fee of up to 6%, and an approved refund cancels the subscription immediately.
  • Renewals aren't refundable.
  • Free and Unlimited generations don't count. Higgsfield says using them doesn't count as credit usage and doesn't affect eligibility.
  • EEA and UK buyers get a 14-day right of withdrawal, which Higgsfield says ends early once you start using digital content from the purchase.

The practical reading: in the first week, test on the Unlimited models and free generation pools your plan includes, and spend credits only once you are sure you are staying.

What "free credits" means on Higgsfield

Searchers asking about Higgsfield free credits usually mean one of two things, and neither is a monthly giveaway. The first is free generations: Higgsfield's credits article describes them as "a one-time pool granted when you purchase the plan," names Soul 2.0 and Soul Cinema as examples, and says they do not renew with the subscription. The second is promo credits from promocodes, which expire on the date shown when issued. Both free generations and Unlimited access work only on higgsfield.ai.

Unlimited: what it covers and what still spends credits

The 365-day set and the flagship windows

Higgsfield defines Unlimited models as specific models where generations don't deduct credits for a set period. Its help centre says most included models come with 365-day access and the newest flagship models may get shorter windows, for example 7 days. Two conditions come with that access:

  • It is bought once, not renewed. Higgsfield calls Unlimited access a one-time purchase, not a recurring subscription, and the period doesn't restart at renewal.
  • It needs a live plan. If your subscription ends, Unlimited access stops working, even if its period hasn't finished.

Read the September guide's plan lines against that definition and a pattern shows. The 365-day set on Plus and Ultra is six image models, the windows are on Nano Banana image models, and the one video model in the plan list, Kling 3.0, arrives as a window on annual billing. For image work, that is a real subsidy, and our Higgsfield vs Nano Banana comparison prices it against Google's per-image meter. For video ads, the monthly credit pool is still the plan.

Marketplace passes for a single model

The gap is filled by the Unlimited Models Marketplace, sold separately from the plan. The September guide says it offers one-day, three-day and seven-day passes per model, from $7 for a one-day pass to $1,035 for a seven-day all-models pass. The help centre adds that each bundle is priced per model and resolution tier, and that video bundles run one generation at a time, up to 15 seconds.

The guide's own cost table argues for passes at volume. For a regular workload of around 30 usable clips a month, it prices the credits at $324 to $540 and says a pass of three or seven days on the working model costs less.

The conditions attached to Unlimited

Unlimited is a different lane, not just a cheaper one. Per Higgsfield's help centre:

  • Web only. Unlimited access applies only on higgsfield.ai.
  • Standard queue. Unlimited generations run in the standard queue, while credit generations always run in the priority queue.
  • Humans only. Unlimited is designed for personal, human use only, and automation tools and scripting are prohibited.

That last rule decides a lot for ad teams. If your plan is to batch variants through an agent, Unlimited is not part of your budget, which our Higgsfield MCP explainer covers in detail.

What runs out first: ten usable ad clips on each plan

The brief and the retry rate

Back to the skincare brand. It needs ten usable eight-second clips at 1080p for a creative test. Higgsfield's guide supplies both inputs: 72 credits per Seedance 2.5 take at that length and resolution, and three to five generations per usable clip "in our own testing." That makes 30 to 50 generations, or 2,160 to 3,600 credits, for ten keepers, the same test month our InVideo vs Higgsfield comparison runs on both tools.

Why ten? Because a creative test needs enough distinct variants to find a winner, and each one is a separate clip. Our guide to ad creative testing explains how many variants a real read takes.

The math, plan by plan

Here is what each plan's monthly credits buy at the two rates Higgsfield published on September 15:

PlanCreditsKling 3.0 takes (20 cr)Seedance 2.5 takes (72 cr)Usable Seedance clips
Starter20010Not on planNone
Plus1,00050132 to 4
Ultra3,000150418 to 13

Starter's Seedance column reflects Higgsfield's Seedance article, which says Seedance 2.5 "isn't included in Starter and Basic," the plan gate our Higgsfield vs Seedance comparison walks through. Basic and Pro are that article's plan names; the September guide lists neither, so read it for Starter only. The Kling column is credit arithmetic: Higgsfield describes entry-level access as core generation models, so confirm Kling 3.0 is in your model picker before you count on it. At the August guide's rate of 18 credits a second, an eight-second take costs 144 credits: Plus buys six takes and Ultra twenty.

The verdict for this brief is plain. Plus runs out before the fifth usable clip. Ultra covers ten only if the retry rate stays at four or fewer. On Starter, model access runs out first; on Plus and Ultra, the credits do.

Where the shortfall gets covered

Higgsfield gives three ways to close the gap, each with its own terms:

  1. Prototype cheaper. Higgsfield's Seedance article advises prototyping at 720p with short clips, locking the prompt, then running the final at full resolution and length.
  2. Top up. Credit Packs and Auto-Refill add credits on demand, and Higgsfield says both expire 90 days from purchase.
  3. Buy a pass. A Marketplace pass on the working model turns retries into a flat cost, on the web only, one video at a time.

Billing rules that change the real monthly cost

Credits reset, top-ups expire

Higgsfield says subscription credits reset regularly and don't roll over: on monthly plans with each paid renewal, and on annual plans every 30 days. Unused plan credits expire at renewal. Subscription credits are always spent first, and the remaining balances go by expiry date. The effect on a campaign calendar is simple: a quiet month is lost budget, and a launch month may need top-ups, which last 90 days.

Monthly or annual, and why the switch is one-way

Annual billing is where the guide's lower prices live, $39 instead of $49 for Plus and $99 instead of $129 for Ultra, plus the Kling 3.0 window. Higgsfield's help centre sets the terms:

  • Monthly to annual works at any time, takes effect immediately and resets the billing date with a prorated charge.
  • Annual to monthly is not available. An annual plan runs to the end of its paid year.
  • Renewals are not refundable, so once the first-purchase refund window closes, the annual decision is a year's commitment.

Commit annually only after a month in which you actually used the credits.

Agents, the API and ChatGPT always spend credits

Higgsfield's help centre says any generation outside higgsfield.ai, including through MCP, the CLI, Canvas, Supercomputer and other automated tools, always deducts credits, regardless of your Unlimited status. Its ChatGPT guide says the same of its ChatGPT plugin. If you build a pipeline, price it per credit at standard rates, and read our guide to the Higgsfield API for how its billing and estimates work before you write code.

How Novoads solves budgeting a month of UGC ad tests

One published price, and credits per model

Novoads is an AI UGC video-ad generator: upload a product image or write a script, pick an AI actor, and get an ad-ready video. Novoads starts at $49/month (Starter, 50 credits per month), all plans are published on /pricing, and plans carry no feature gates. The video engines are the frontier ones the category rents: Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0 Mini, Kling v3 Pro and Google Veo 3.1 are all in Novoads, each billed at its own published credit cost.

To put your product in a creator's hand, create a custom actor from a photo of someone holding it, or start from one of Discover's product templates. Credit costs in Novoads also vary by model and length, so compare the same model, duration and resolution on both pricing pages rather than two headline numbers. The /pricing page lists each video model's credit cost, so you can check the math before you start a Novoads plan.

Where Higgsfield is the better buy

Higgsfield wins when the job is bigger than ads. Its guide says one credit balance covers more than 30 frontier models for video, image and audio, and its unlimited image sets make heavy image iteration cheap on Plus and Ultra. A studio making cinematic work, characters and stills alongside ads will get more from one Higgsfield plan than from a tool built only for UGC ads. If you are weighing that trade-off, our Higgsfield review for ads and our list of Higgsfield alternatives for ad creative go deeper.

Price the usable clip, not the plan

Higgsfield's pricing is candid where it counts: the cost is on the button, and its own guide admits a keeper takes several tries. The trap is reading the plan card as the budget. A plan is priced in months, but an ad test is spent in retries, and the retries come out of the credit pool. Work out credits per usable clip first, and the right plan picks itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Higgsfield AI cost?

Higgsfield's guide to credits and unlimited plans, dated September 15, 2026 with prices verified September 11, lists three individual plans: Starter at $15 a month for 200 credits, Plus at $49 a month or $39 a month on annual billing for 1,000 credits, and Ultra at $129 a month or $99 a month on annual billing for 3,000 credits. Business plans (Team, Scale and Enterprise) are separate. Higgsfield's help centre says its pricing page always shows the current plans and prices, and an earlier Higgsfield post from June 2026 carried a different Starter figure, so confirm the price at checkout. Taxes are added at checkout and promo prices apply to the first payment only.

Is Higgsfield AI free?

Partly. Higgsfield's help centre says you can generate without a paid plan, but access is limited to a small set of models and doesn't include credits. Every generation on a free account carries a Higgsfield watermark. Any model that costs credits needs a paid subscription, because Higgsfield says credits can't be used without an active subscription.

Does Higgsfield have a free trial?

No. Higgsfield's plans article answers the question directly: there's no trial period, and you can explore on the free tier with a limited set of models. The closest thing to a trial is the refund policy: an initial purchase can be refunded within 7 days, or as local law allows, only if no credits have been used, with a service fee of up to 6%. Renewals aren't refundable.

How many credits does a Higgsfield video cost?

It depends on the model, resolution and length, and Higgsfield shows the exact cost on the Generate button before you confirm. Its September 15, 2026 guide reports 20 credits for an eight-second 1080p Kling 3.0 clip and 72 credits for an eight-second 1080p Seedance 2.5 take. Its August 14, 2026 guide reports 270 credits for a 15-second 1080p Seedance 2.5 video made through its ChatGPT plugin and 540 credits for a 30-second take. Higgsfield also says a usable clip typically takes three to five generations.

Do Higgsfield credits roll over?

Not on individual plans. Higgsfield says subscription credits reset and don't roll over: on monthly plans with each paid renewal, and on annual plans every 30 days. Credit Pack and Auto-Refill top-ups expire 90 days from purchase, and subscription credits are always spent first. Enterprise is the exception, with volume rollover credits.

Does Higgsfield Unlimited work through MCP, the API or ChatGPT?

No. Higgsfield's help centre says Unlimited access applies only on higgsfield.ai, and any generation made outside it, including through MCP, the CLI, Canvas, Supercomputer and other automated tools, always deducts credits. Its ChatGPT guide says the same about generations made through its ChatGPT plugin.

Key Takeaways

  • Higgsfield's pricing guide dated September 15, 2026 (prices verified September 11) lists Starter at $15 a month for 200 credits with no unlimited set, Plus at $49 a month or $39 on annual billing for 1,000 credits, and Ultra at $129 a month or $99 on annual billing for 3,000 credits. Higgsfield's help centre says the pricing page always shows the current prices, so check it at checkout.
  • Higgsfield is not free for paid-model work. Its free tier covers a small set of models and includes no credits, every free generation carries a watermark, and there is no trial period.
  • Credit costs depend on model, resolution and length. Higgsfield's September 15 guide puts an eight-second 1080p Kling 3.0 clip at 20 credits and an eight-second 1080p Seedance 2.5 take at 72 credits, while its August 14 guide reported 270 credits for a 15-second 1080p Seedance 2.5 video, twice the per-second rate.
  • The unlimited sets on Plus and Ultra are mostly image models. For video ads the monthly credit pool is what runs out: ten usable eight-second Seedance 2.5 clips at Higgsfield's own three to five tries each need 2,160 to 3,600 credits.
  • Unlimited and free generations work only on higgsfield.ai. Anything made through MCP, the CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer spends credits at standard rates.
