The download limit sets what a Suno track costs
Suno's pricing page leads with credits, but it's the line just below them that decides what a song you can use outside Suno really costs. Pro includes 20 song downloads a month, and Premier includes 60.
Pro costs $10 a month, or $8 a month billed yearly. Spread over its 20 downloads, that's 50 cents a song. Billing yearly brings it down to 40 cents, and Premier works out to the same two rates with three times the downloads. We worked out those per-song figures ourselves. For an ad, where what you need is one finished track you can actually use, they're the price to plan around.
We didn't test Suno's app for this post. The prices, limits and terms here come from Suno's own pages as they read from Spain on November 1, 2026 (in euros, next to Suno's dollar prices) and from its help center. The ratings are the public ones on the app stores and Trustpilot, and the Novoads side comes from a music request we ran on October 31.
Suno's Free, Pro and Premier plans
Prices as of November 1, 2026. The euro prices are what Suno's page shows a visitor from Spain, and the dollar prices are Suno's own for the same plans. The page opens on yearly billing, so the first price you see is the yearly rate divided by twelve.
| Plan | Billed yearly, per month | Billed monthly | Credits | Song downloads | Commercial use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 € ($0) | 0 € ($0) | 50 a day | No monthly song downloads | No commercial rights |
| Pro | 7,20 € ($8) | 9 € ($10) | 2,500 a month | 20 a month | Commercial use rights |
| Premier | 22 € ($24) | 28 € ($30) | 10,000 a month | 60 a month | Commercial use rights |
Yearly billing and what it saves
Suno's page puts the savings from yearly billing at 20%.
- Pro billed yearly comes to $96 a year, which the page shows as $8 a month. Suno says that saves $24 a year over monthly billing.
- Premier billed yearly is $288 a year, shown as $24 a month.
- For a visitor from Spain, Pro is listed at 7,20 € a month billed yearly and 9 € on monthly billing. Premier is listed at 22 € and 28 €.
Suno calculates tax at checkout, so every price here is a list price before tax.
In its terms, Suno reserves the right to change its prices, with notice in the app, by email or in another reasonable way. So check the page again on the day you pay.
What each plan includes
- Free gives you 50 credits a day, which Suno says is enough for 10 songs, on its free model, v6-mini. Its plan card lists no commercial rights and no add-on credit purchases.
- Pro adds Suno's flagship model, v6, and the more exploratory v6-wild. It comes with 2,500 credits a month, commercial use rights and two types of stem separation, and on Pro you can buy more credits and downloads.
- Premier raises the monthly credits to 10,000, adds a third type of stem separation and includes access to Suno Studio, the company's production suite.
Suno introduced the v6 models on September 9, 2026, and its help center says every model before them is retired. Our post on the v6 launch covers that release. Plan credits don't carry over from one day or month to the next. Credits you buy as a top-up don't expire, but you need an active subscription to use them. A help article dated December 19, 2025 says Pro and Premier subscribers who use up their monthly credits then get up to 50 credits a day.
How Suno's download limit works
Suno announced the limit on August 10, 2026. It has applied since September 3, and it covers songs made before that date too. The company's stated reason is that "limiting downloads will make it harder for bad actors to mass-export music." Prices didn't change with it, and an archived copy of the pricing page from July 7, 2026 already shows Pro at $8 a month billed yearly. Suno's FAQ on the change has an entry for people who "paid for an annual plan that included unlimited downloads", and the answer points them to canceling.
What counts as one download
In articles from September 2026, Suno's help center counts downloads by the song rather than by the file.
- Taking a song in several formats still counts as one download, stems included.
- Downloading the same song again doesn't use another download, and failed or interrupted downloads don't count.
- Your allowance resets on your billing date each month, and unused downloads don't roll over. On a yearly plan, your downloads still top up each month from your purchase date.
- Downloads you buy one at a time or in packs do roll over.
- Once you reach your limit, you can buy more.
Playing and sharing songs on Suno is still unlimited on every plan, so the limit only applies to files you take off the platform. Suno's terms also tie commercial use to a download, which is why the count matters so much for ads.
Premier and Suno Studio
Does Premier have a download limit at all? Suno's help center says workflows in Suno Studio aren't affected by the download limits, and its August 10 post says Premier subscribers who use Studio have no download limits. Studio is part of the Premier plan. We still count Premier at 60 downloads in the math below, because that's the figure on its plan card and Suno's terms tie commercial use to a permitted download within your plan's allocation.
Free accounts and trial downloads
Suno's Free card says "No monthly song downloads", but older free accounts still get some. A help article dated September 3, 2026 says free users who joined before that date have up to 7 trial downloads and can buy more. Those who joined on or after it "may occasionally receive trial downloads" and can buy them too. An article dated September 9 says every free account includes up to 7 lifetime trial downloads and doesn't split them by join date. Either way, trial downloads aren't eligible for commercial use.
A song you made on Suno's Free plan can still qualify for commercial use. An article dated October 6, 2026 says songs made while not subscribed "can now qualify by using one of your paid download credits." An older article, dated December 17, 2025, says subscribing doesn't give free-plan songs commercial rights after the fact by default. We take the newer article as the current rule, since it's Suno's more recent statement.
What Suno's credits buy
Ten credits make two songs
A help article dated September 9, 2026 says each generation makes two songs for 10 credits in total, the same as with Suno's earlier models. Pro's 2,500 monthly credits cover 250 generations. That's 500 songs by our math, against 20 downloads. Premier's credits stretch to 2,000 songs, against 60 downloads. So by our reading, if you're making ad music, you'll run out of downloads long before you run out of credits.
Max Mode, image prompts and song length
Max Mode costs more credits, and Suno says it's best for songs longer than two minutes, close covers, moving one song's style onto another and keeping vocals consistent. The help article doesn't say how many credits it adds. Putting many images or videos into a prompt also raises the cost. None of the Suno pages we read prices songs by length, so as far as we can tell, a 15- or 30-second bed is something you cut from a full song.
Free's daily credits and buying more
Free's 50 daily credits make 10 songs a day by Suno's count, and Free users can't buy add-on credits. Pro and Premier subscribers can buy more credits and downloads. Suno's pricing page mentions that option but gives no price, and its help center points buyers to suno.com/account. Suno's US App Store listing does show prices, as in-app purchases.
- One download credit at $2.99, and a second single-download item at $4.99
- Three download credits at $8.95
- 500 credits at $4.00, 1,000 credits at $8.00 and 2,000 credits at $16.00
The listing doesn't say what separates the two single-download prices.
What one ad track costs on Suno
Per downloaded song, plan by plan
Divide each plan's price by its downloads and you get the cost of one song you can take out of Suno, before tax. The math is ours, worked from the prices above.
- Pro on monthly billing comes to 50 cents a download ($10 for 20), or 45 euro cents at 9 €.
- Pro billed yearly comes to 40 cents ($8 a month for 20), or 36 euro cents at 7,20 €.
- Premier on monthly billing comes to 50 cents ($30 for 60), or about 47 euro cents at 28 €.
- Premier billed yearly comes to 40 cents ($24 a month for 60), or about 37 euro cents at 22 €.
- A download past your allowance costs $2.99 as a single in-app purchase on the US App Store (about six times the in-plan rate), or $8.95 for three.
Those rates assume you use every download in the month. Unused downloads don't roll over, so a Pro month where you use 10 downloads works out to $1 a song on monthly billing.
Cutting a song down to an ad bed
For a 15- or 30-second ad, you'll need to trim the song. According to a help article dated December 19, 2025, Pro and Premier subscribers can use Crop on Suno's desktop site, and Suno adds the cropped version to your library as a new song. Suno also says it doesn't have a standalone audio trimmer and points you to Studio 2.0, where you import audio, select a range on the timeline and export it. Studio comes with Premier. Or you can download the full song and cut it in your video editor.
What Suno's terms say about commercial use and ads
Suno last revised its terms on August 10, 2026, and they took effect on September 3. They allow commercial use only within Suno's conditions of use, and only for output you've obtained as a permitted download within your plan's download allocation. In their words, "You may not commercially exploit Output that has not been downloaded by you through an approved channel under these Terms of Service." The terms also list things you agree not to use the service to do, and that list includes "advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose that is not specifically authorized".
Suno's help center, in an article dated September 3, 2026, says commercial use rights "allow you to monetize the songs however you wish, without Suno claiming a stake in the earnings." The footer of the pricing page points readers to the terms "for limitations on commercial use." Our posts on the German court ruling against Suno, Sony's suit against Udio and Adobe's audio tools for ads cover the broader questions about AI music in ads, and our Lyria 3.5 explainer covers Google's music model.
Music in Novoads, through the API and the connector
What one request costs
In Novoads, you make music through our API and our MCP connector. One request costs 2 credits and returns two takes of the same prompt. Our API reference says the price is flat per request and doesn't change with length. Novoads is paid from the first month. Starter costs $15 a month for 200 credits. That's $0.075 a credit, so a music request costs $0.15. Plus is $49 a month for 1,000 credits. That's $0.049 a credit, or about 10 cents a request. You'll find every plan on our pricing page.
Our pricing page with Monthly selected, taken 2026-11-01
Side by side, a Suno download on Pro works out to 50 cents. A Novoads music request uses 15 cents of Starter credits and gives you two takes. If the ad needs a voice as well, our ElevenLabs pricing guide covers what a voiceover costs.
One request on October 31
On October 31, we sent one request through our API for a bright, feel-good lo-fi pop instrumental bed for an Instagram story, opening on soft, clean electric guitar. It came back in about 34 seconds with two takes. Each take ran about 2 minutes 45 seconds. The request cost 2 credits.
Our API reference says typical renders finish in about 75 seconds. It also says to expect roughly one to two minutes of audio whatever you ask for, and to trim it yourself. Our takes ran longer than that, so plan on cutting a take down to your ad's length. Only the prompt reaches the model, and the length hint you send is a preference that doesn't change the price.
The music endpoint in our public API reference, taken 2026-11-01
Where music fits in Novoads today
You can call the music endpoint from your own code through the API, or from an MCP client through the Novoads connector, which works with anything that supports MCP over Streamable HTTP with OAuth. Our post on AI video MCP servers shows the connector running one ad brief, call by call, and our post on the Claude ads skill shows how to connect it to Claude. In the ad editor, the music picker has two tabs, stock tracks and Upload, so to use a song you've downloaded from Suno in a Novoads ad, you upload it. Suno announced its own MCP beta on October 28, 2026, open to all plans, and songs you make through it use your Suno credits.

Compare the plansSpotify, canceling and what users say about Suno
Putting Suno songs on Spotify
Songs made on a paid plan can go to Spotify through a distributor, but Suno's wording on which songs qualify changed between two help articles.
- An article dated December 17, 2025 says songs made while subscribed to Pro or Premier carry commercial use rights, and that those rights let you distribute them to Spotify, Apple Music and other services through the distributor of your choice.
- A newer article, dated September 3, 2026, ties the rights to songs downloaded while subscribed and lists distribution to streaming platforms among them.
- The older article says songs made on the Free plan are for non-commercial use only. The October 6, 2026 article we covered above lets such a song qualify through a paid download credit.
On September 8, 2026, Suno announced a partnership with Believe and its self-release platform TuneCore. The company said tracks made with its new industry partner model will become eligible for distribution through them, and that its watermarking, fingerprinting and download limits will apply to music distributed there.
Canceling a Suno plan
On Suno, whether you pay for another period comes down to the renewal date.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. To avoid the next charge, cancel before the renewal date, at suno.com/account or by email.
- You keep paid access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Payments are "final and non-refundable, unless otherwise determined by Suno," and the terms add that this doesn't limit any statutory refund rights you have.
- If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, Suno's help article on canceling (dated December 19, 2025) says to cancel through Apple or Google.
- After you cancel, your songs stay in your library and your downloads fall back to the Free plan's limits. You keep commercial rights to the songs you downloaded while paying.
Ratings on the app stores and Trustpilot
Ratings as of November 1, 2026. Suno scores far higher on the app stores than on Trustpilot.
- Suno's iPhone app is rated 4.9 from 387K ratings on the US App Store.
- Its Android app has a 4.8 from 2.61M reviews on Google Play.
- Trustpilot shows 1.7 from 199 reviews, though the label on its star graphic says 1.5. And 73% of the reviews give one star.
We couldn't read G2's page for Suno, so we've left it out. One Google Play review, dated September 6, 2026, says of the limit, "But limiting the number of downloads is not a good idea."
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Suno distribute to Spotify?
Yes, on Pro or Premier. In an article dated December 17, 2025, Suno's help center says songs made while subscribed carry commercial use rights that let you send them to Spotify, Apple Music and other services through the distributor you pick. A newer article, dated September 3, 2026, ties those rights to songs you download while subscribed. And according to an article dated October 6, 2026, a song made on the Free plan qualifies only through a paid download credit.
Is there a free alternative to Suno?
Suno has a Free plan of its own. It gives you 50 credits a day, enough for 10 songs by Suno's count, on its free model, v6-mini. The plan comes with no commercial rights and no monthly song downloads. Free accounts opened before September 3, 2026 have up to 7 trial downloads, and those aren't eligible for commercial use. We didn't compare other free music tools for this post.
What is Suno AI?
Suno is an AI music generator that turns a written idea, a voice memo, an image or a video into a song. Its About page says the company was founded in 2022. Suno introduced its current models (v6 and v6-wild on paid plans, v6-mini for everyone) on September 9, 2026, and says every model before them is retired.
Can I cancel my Suno AI subscription anytime?
Yes. As long as you cancel before your renewal date, Suno won't charge you for the next period. Its terms say you can cancel at suno.com/account or by email, and that paid access lasts until the end of the period you've paid for. They also call payments final and non-refundable unless Suno decides otherwise, though that doesn't limit any statutory refund rights you have. If you bought the plan in the iPhone or Android app, you cancel it through Apple or Google.
Key Takeaways
- Suno's Pro plan is $10 a month, or $8 a month billed yearly. Premier is $30 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly. A visitor from Spain sees 9 € and 28 € on monthly billing.
- Pro includes 20 song downloads a month, and Premier includes 60. The limit has applied since September 3, 2026, and unused downloads don't roll over.
- By our math, a downloaded song costs 50 cents on monthly billing and 40 cents billed yearly, on Pro and Premier alike. An extra download bought in Suno's iPhone app in the US costs $2.99.
- Downloads are a tighter limit than credits. Ten credits make two songs, so by our count Pro's monthly credits cover 500 songs, against 20 downloads.
- In Novoads, you make music through our API and MCP connector. One request costs 2 credits and returns two takes. That comes to $0.15 on Starter and about 10 cents on Plus.
