Higgsfield vs Seedance: Higgsfield Resells the Model, Behind a $49 Plan Gate

Seedance is ByteDance's video model and Higgsfield is one platform that resells it, so the real choice is where to run Seedance 2.5: on Higgsfield's $49 Plus plan, on fal's per-second API or inside Novoads, priced per take as of September 2026.

You already picked the model. Now pick the door.

A founder signs up for Higgsfield's $15 Starter plan to test Seedance 2.5 on a serum ad, then learns the model is not in that plan. Higgsfield's own Seedance help article says Seedance 2.5 "isn't included in Starter and Basic." A Higgsfield pricing post dated August 6, 2026 puts the entry point at the $49 plan.

That moment is the whole "Higgsfield vs Seedance" question. Seedance is ByteDance's video model family. Higgsfield is an AI-native creative suite that runs Seedance among more than 30 frontier models on one credit balance. They are not rivals. One is the engine, the other is a place to buy time on it.

So the useful comparison is not Higgsfield against Seedance. It is Seedance 2.5 on Higgsfield against Seedance 2.5 somewhere else: on fal's pay-per-second API, or inside Novoads, which also runs the model. Novoads competes with Higgsfield for ad makers, so weigh our framing with that in mind. Every Higgsfield and fal number below comes from that company's own pages, dated, as of September 2026.

The short answer: one model, three doors

Seedance is the engine, not the storefront

ByteDance's launch post for Seedance 2.5, dated July 31, 2026, says the model "extends single-pass video generation from 15 to 30 seconds." The same post said it was rolling out on Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro, "with API access coming soon via BytePlus ModelArk." We did not price ByteDance's own apps here. For the spec itself, read what Seedance 2.5 is and what it changes for ads.

Everyone else rents the model. fal lists three Seedance 2.5 endpoints: text to video, image to video and reference to video. Higgsfield's help article puts "versions from Seedance 2.0 to Seedance 2.5 in the model picker." Novoads puts it in its own picker. What differs between those doors is access, billing, resolution and the tools around the render.

Use each door when

  • Use Higgsfield when you want Seedance 2.5 inside a suite with saved characters, node workflows and dozens of other models, and you will spend most of a 1,000-credit Plus pool each month.
  • Use fal when you write code, want no subscription, and prefer a per-second list price you can multiply before you spend.
  • Use Novoads when the Seedance clip is one part of a UGC ad you also build with talking actors and product images, and you accept a higher rate per raw second for that.

Getting Seedance 2.5 on Higgsfield means buying the right plan

What the help article says

Higgsfield's help article "How to Use Seedance on Higgsfield" is dated August 1, 2026, and its page metadata shows an update on September 9, 2026. Its access rule is one sentence: "Seedance 2.5 is available on Pro and Plus plans and above and isn't included in Starter and Basic."

The same article sets the limits of a single generation:

  • 30 seconds at most. Its FAQ says "30 seconds is the maximum per generation in Seedance 2.5."
  • Clips from 4 to 30 seconds, "in any aspect ratio from 9:16 to 21:9."
  • References of "up to 30 images, 10 video clips, and 10 audio files" in one generation.
  • Native audio at no extra cost: "The sound toggle doesn't change the cost of a generation."

The plan names in the article are not the plans on sale

The article names "Pro" and "Basic." Higgsfield's own plan comparison, published September 15, 2026 with prices verified September 11, lists three individual plans: Starter at $15 a month with 200 credits, Plus at $49 a month with 1,000 credits, and Ultra at $129 a month with 3,000 credits. Read "Pro" and "Basic" as the article's labels, not as plans you can buy today, and see our Higgsfield pricing breakdown for what each current plan includes.

The August 6 pricing post settles the practical question in Higgsfield's own words: "Seedance 2.5 starts on Higgsfield's $49 plan, which carries 1,000 credits," and "Cheaper plans below it do not include the model." On today's list, that makes Plus the lowest plan with Seedance 2.5, and Starter the plan without it.

What the plan buys beyond the model

The $49 is not only a Seedance ticket. Around the model, Higgsfield's own pages describe:

  • One credit balance for more than 30 frontier models, including Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 and Wan 2.6, per the September 15 post.
  • Elements, which keep a character consistent across separate generations. For a real person, the article says to "train a Soul ID first."
  • Canvas, where you "connect a reference to the Seedance node" and chain models into one workflow.
  • Seedance 2.5 Edit, a separate model that "changes a clip you've already generated, including region-level edits." We cover that technique in local video editing for ads.

If most of your work lives in those tools, the plan gate is a fair price of entry. Our Higgsfield review for ad makers walks through the rest of the suite.

What a Seedance 2.5 take costs on Higgsfield, by its own numbers

720p: 52 credits for eight seconds

The August 6 pricing post gives the cleanest figure. On the $49 plan, "a 720p 8 second clip draws 52 credits, which comes to $2.55 and about 19 clips a month." Drop the resolution and "the same clip at 480p draws 24 credits instead of 52." For contrast, the same post says Seedance 2.0 draws 36 credits for the 720p clip.

That $2.55 is Higgsfield's own conversion at the Plus rate of $49 for 1,000 credits, about 4.9 cents a credit. It holds only if you spend the whole pool. Higgsfield's help center says "Subscription credits reset regularly and don't roll over," and "Credits can't be used without an active subscription."

1080p: two Higgsfield posts, two rates

At 1080p, Higgsfield's pages disagree with each other, and the gap is not small:

  • September 15, 2026: "one Seedance 2.5 take at 8 seconds 1080p costs 72 credits, about $3.60." That is 9 credits a second.
  • August 14, 2026: in a post about its ChatGPT plugin, a 15-second vertical ad "was then generated with Seedance 2.5 at 1080p and cost 270 credits." That is 18 credits a second, twice the later rate.

The plugin post does not say whether plugin generations bill differently from the web app, so neither figure is proven wrong, a split our InVideo vs Higgsfield comparison also budgets around. Resolution itself is unsettled too. The help article's table lists Seedance 2.5 "up to 1080p on Pro and Plus plans and above," while the August 6 post says "Seedance 2.5 generates at 480p and 720p."

The Generate button is the only price that counts

Higgsfield's help article answers the confusion itself: "The exact cost is always on the Generate button." It also names what moves the number: "Resolution and clip duration drive credit consumption." Audio does not.

The practical move is cheap. Before you plan a month on Higgsfield, set up one 8-second take at the resolution you will ship, read the button, and multiply that figure, not a blog table. The Seedance 2.5 prompt guide for UGC ads helps you get that first take close enough to count.

Where Higgsfield Unlimited stops covering Seedance 2.5

A window on some plans, on the web only

Higgsfield also sells a way around per-take credits. Its August 6 post says Higgsfield "includes an unlimited Seedance 2.5 window at up to 720p on some plans," that "the window usually runs 33 days," and that "the cheapest plans are not included." Inside the window, maximum clip length "rises with the tier and with annual billing." One setting trips people up: "the Unlimited toggle has to be switched on in the model menu."

The window has a hard border. Higgsfield's help center says "Unlimited access applies only on higgsfield.ai," and "Any generation made outside it, including through MCP, CLI, Canvas, Supercomputer, and other automated tools, always deducts credits, regardless of your Unlimited status." The mechanics of that split are in our Higgsfield MCP explainer.

Marketplace bundles stop at 15 seconds

If your plan has no window, "The Unlimited Models Marketplace sells Unlimited access to individual models as bundles, separately from your plan." Higgsfield's September 15 post prices passes "from $7 for a 1-day pass to $1,035 for a 7-day all-models pass."

Read the concurrency table before you buy one for Seedance 2.5. For video models it says "1 generation at a time, up to 15 seconds." The 30-second single take, which our Runway vs Seedance comparison prices against joined shorter clips, is the reason many people want Seedance 2.5, so budget any take past 15 seconds in credits, not in a bundle.

Queue speed and the human-only rule

Unlimited is not the fast lane. "Unlimited generations run in the standard queue, while credit-based generations always run in the priority queue." It is not for pipelines either: "Unlimited is designed for personal, human use only. Automation tools, scripting, credential sharing, and reselling access are strictly prohibited."

For a solo creator iterating by hand, a window can beat credits, the same trade our Higgsfield vs Nano Banana comparison runs for product stills. For an agency job that scripts fifty variants overnight, Higgsfield's own rules put that work back on credits.

Running Seedance 2.5 by the second on fal

The list prices and the formula

fal's Seedance 2.5 text-to-video page, read in September 2026, prices by output: "For 480p, your request will cost roughly $0.2205 per second of generated video, for 720p, you will be charged roughly $0.4730 per second of generated video, and for 1080p, roughly $1.164 per second of generated video."

Those per-second numbers are shortcuts. fal says "The token formula is authoritative," with tokens counted as (output_height * output_width * duration_seconds * 24) / 1024. Three consequences matter for ads:

  • A vertical 720p ad is 720×1280, the same frame area as a 16:9 ad at 1280×720, so the 720p rate carries over to 9:16.
  • Sound is included: "generate_audio does not change your token count."
  • Duration is a dial to set, not leave on auto. fal warns that both auto settings "affect your token count" and says to "Pass explicit values for duration and aspect_ratio when you need predictable cost."

fal's own worked examples put a 5-second 720p clip at about $2.31 and a 30-second 720p take at about $13.87. For how the same billing looked on the previous model, see Seedance 2.0 pricing across APIs and apps.

The 1080p line is not settled on fal either

The same page is not consistent about resolution. Its introduction says Seedance 2.5 generates "at up to 720p," and its input table lists the resolution as "480p" or "720p." Yet its pricing sentence quotes a 1080p rate, and fal's machine-readable API schema for the endpoint lists 1080p as an option. If your ads need 1080p, send one short test request before you budget a batch at $1.164 a second.

What you build yourself

fal sells the model, not a workflow. The model page's playground asks you to "Sign in to run," and production use is an API call. fal tells developers to "Use the queue API rather than a synchronous call for anything past a few seconds of output," and the result is a file you read at result["video"]["url"].

Everything around that file is yours to build:

  • Retries, storage and naming for dozens of variants.
  • Reference management: which product photo and which face go into which call.
  • Captions, voiceover swaps and the cut that turns a clip into an ad.

For a team with an engineer, that is freedom and the lowest meter reading. For a marketer working alone, it is a project.

One month of ads, priced three ways

The brief

A skincare brand wants four finished 8-second vertical ads from Seedance 2.5 at 720p for a Meta test. Assume three generations per finished ad, because retries are real: Higgsfield's September 15 post says a usable clip "in our own testing typically takes three to five generations to land." That makes 12 generations, or 96 seconds of output.

The math, door by door

DoorPer generation12 generationsWhat you buy
Higgsfield52 credits624 creditsPlus, $49 for 1,000
fal APIAbout $3.78About $45.41Usage only
Novoads11.2 credits134.4 creditsStudio Light, $99 for 150

The formulas behind each row:

  • Higgsfield: 12 × 52 = 624 credits, inside Plus's 1,000. At Higgsfield's own $2.55 per take, that is 12 × $2.55 = $30.60 of the $49 plan, with 376 credits left for other models.
  • fal: 96 seconds × $0.4730 = about $45.41, billed as used, with no plan.
  • Novoads: 12 × 11.2 = 134.4 credits, above Starter's 50 and Pro's 100, so Studio Light at $99 for 150 credits.

On raw Seedance 2.5 seconds, Novoads is the most expensive door for this brief. Drafting at 480p narrows the gap on every door. Two 480p drafts plus one 720p final per ad comes to 400 credits on Higgsfield, 4 × (24 + 24 + 52); about $29.25 on fal, 4 × (16 seconds × $0.2205 + 8 seconds × $0.4730); and 89.6 credits on Novoads, 4 × (5.6 + 5.6 + 11.2), which fits inside Pro's 100 credits at $79.

Where the 1080p rates flip the answer

Now run the same 96 seconds at 1080p, where only Higgsfield and fal quote a price:

  • At Higgsfield's September 15 rate of 72 credits per 8 seconds: 12 × 72 = 864 credits, still inside Plus.
  • At the August 14 plugin rate of 18 credits a second: 96 × 18 = 1,728 credits, beyond Plus and inside Ultra's 3,000 at $129.
  • On fal at the quoted 1080p rate: 96 × $1.164 = about $111.74.

The two Higgsfield figures decide whether the month costs $49 or $129. That is why the Generate button, not a blog table, belongs in your budget. And because all three doors sell the same ByteDance model, realism is rarely the tiebreaker between them.

How Novoads runs Seedance 2.5 for ad makers

Novoads runs Seedance 2.5 in the same workspace as its talking actors and product images, from the $49 Starter plan. The case for it is not the cheapest second. It is the ad around the clip.

Seedance 2.5 on the entry plan, priced in public

  • The roster. Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.0 Mini sit in the Novoads picker next to Kling v3 Pro, Google Veo 3.1 and Omni Flash, all on one credit balance.
  • The cells. Seedance 2.5 runs from 4 to 30 seconds at 480p or 720p. At 720p it costs 7.6 credits for 5 seconds, 11.2 for 8 seconds and 37.6 for a full 30-second take. At 480p it costs half, 5.6 credits for 8 seconds.
  • The price. Novoads starts at $49/month (Starter, 50 credits per month). All plans are published on /pricing, with the number of Seedance 2.5 outputs each plan buys, so the math above is checkable before you pay. At Starter's $0.98 a credit ($49 ÷ 50), an 8-second 720p take is about $10.98.
  • Product in hand. To show your product held on camera, upload a photo of someone holding it to create a custom actor, or start from a Discover product template, which puts your uploaded product into a template creator's hand in a 15-second Seedance 2.0 clip.

If that is the shape of your work, you can build the ad in Novoads on the Starter plan and move up only when the credits run short.

Where Novoads is the weaker door

Concessions, stated plainly:

  • Price per raw take. In the worked example above, Novoads costs more per Seedance 2.5 second than Higgsfield's stated Plus rate or fal's list price.
  • Resolution. Novoads runs Seedance 2.5 at up to 720p. Higgsfield's help article lists 1080p, and fal quotes a 1080p rate.
  • References. Novoads caps a Seedance 2.5 generation at 9 images, 3 video clips and 3 audio files. Higgsfield's article lists 30, 10 and 10.
  • Editing and Unlimited. The Novoads catalog has no Seedance 2.5 Edit model, and its plans are credit plans with no Unlimited window.

Pick the door by the bill you can read

Every door in this post sells the same ByteDance model under the same name. What changes is who sets the rate, whether the model sits behind a plan, and whether you can read the price before you spend.

On its own August figures, Higgsfield's Plus plan is the cheapest of these three doors for Seedance 2.5 seconds, as long as you use the pool and its posts agree by the time you pay. fal is the most legible meter, if someone on the team writes code. Novoads charges more per second and gives you the rest of the ad in the same place. Run one 8-second take on the door you choose, read what it cost, and only then plan the month.

The model is the constant. The door is the budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Higgsfield the same as Seedance?

No. Seedance is ByteDance's video model family. Higgsfield is an AI creative suite that offers Seedance among more than 30 frontier models on one credit balance, alongside its own tools such as Elements, Soul ID and Canvas. Comparing them means comparing Seedance on Higgsfield with Seedance on another platform or API.

Which Higgsfield plan includes Seedance 2.5?

Higgsfield's Seedance help article says Seedance 2.5 is available on Pro and Plus plans and above and isn't included in Starter and Basic. Its pricing post dated August 6, 2026 says the model starts on the $49 plan with 1,000 credits and that cheaper plans do not include it. Higgsfield's September 15, 2026 plan list shows Starter at $15, Plus at $49 and Ultra at $129, so Plus is the lowest current plan with Seedance 2.5.

How many credits does Seedance 2.5 use on Higgsfield?

Higgsfield has published three figures. Its August 6, 2026 pricing post says an 8-second 720p clip draws 52 credits (24 at 480p). Its September 15, 2026 post says an 8-second 1080p take costs 72 credits. Its August 14, 2026 ChatGPT plugin post says a 15-second 1080p video cost 270 credits, which is twice the per-second rate of the September figure. The help article says the exact cost is always shown on the Generate button.

How much does Seedance 2.5 cost on fal?

As of September 2026, fal's Seedance 2.5 text-to-video page lists roughly $0.2205 per second at 480p, $0.4730 at 720p and $1.164 at 1080p, with a token formula based on frame area and duration as the authoritative price. Its own worked examples put a 5-second 720p clip at about $2.31 and a 30-second 720p take at about $13.87. Generating audio does not change the cost.

How long can a Seedance 2.5 clip be?

30 seconds per generation. Higgsfield's help article lists Seedance 2.5 clips from 4 to 30 seconds and says 30 seconds is the maximum per generation, and fal's API schema accepts 4 to 30 seconds or auto. On Higgsfield, Unlimited Marketplace video bundles run up to 15 seconds per generation, so a longer take there is a credit purchase.

Can I use Seedance 2.5 in Novoads?

Yes. Novoads runs Seedance 2.5 from 4 to 30 seconds at 480p or 720p, next to Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Mini, Kling v3 Pro, Google Veo 3.1 and Omni Flash. At 720p a take costs 7.6 credits for 5 seconds, 11.2 for 8 seconds and 37.6 for 30 seconds. Novoads starts at $49/month (Starter, 50 credits per month), and all plans are published on /pricing.

Key Takeaways

  • Seedance is ByteDance's video model and Higgsfield is one platform that sells access to it, so 'Higgsfield vs Seedance' is really a choice of where to run Seedance 2.5: on Higgsfield, on a per-second API such as fal, or inside an ad tool such as Novoads.
  • On Higgsfield, Seedance 2.5 is not on Starter. Its help article says the model isn't included in Starter and Basic, and its August 6, 2026 pricing post says it starts on the $49 plan with 1,000 credits, which is Plus on the September 15 plan list. The article's 'Pro' and 'Basic' are its own labels, not plans on sale today.
  • Higgsfield's own posts disagree on 1080p: 72 credits for an 8-second take on September 15, 2026, against 270 credits for a 15-second take on August 14, 2026, twice the rate per second. Its help article says the exact cost is always on the Generate button, so read that before you budget a month.
  • fal lists Seedance 2.5 at roughly $0.2205, $0.4730 and $1.164 per second for 480p, 720p and 1080p as of September 2026, with no plan and audio included, but everything around the API call is yours to build.
  • Novoads runs Seedance 2.5 at 480p and 720p for 11.2 credits per 8-second 720p take and starts at $49/month (Starter, 50 credits per month). It costs more per raw second than Higgsfield Plus or fal, and fits when the clip is one part of a UGC ad built in the same workspace.
