AI Video Ad Cost: The Median Seedance 2.0 Ad Was 63 Credits in October

A price list can't tell you what an ad was charged

AI video pricing pages quote a price per second, per clip or per plan. What a price list can't show you is what finished ads were actually charged, because that number is in the render records of whoever made the ads.

We have those records for Novoads. In October 2026, the median finished ad that our customers made with Seedance 2.0 was charged 63 credits, and the median Seedance 2.5 ad was charged 70. On Plus, that's about $3.09 and $3.43 worth of credits.

We pulled October's records on November 1, after the month closed, and checked the Seedance 2.0 figure again on November 7. It hadn't changed. We count only ads that customers made, leaving out our own workspaces and anything an admin made. And we publish a median only when it comes from 10 or more customer workspaces and no single workspace made more than half the ads. For October, Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5 are the two models with a published median.

If you budget from the price of a five-second clip at the default 720p, you'll come up short of what the median ad was charged on either model. We'd budget from the median instead.

October's two medians, in credits and in dollars

Each median in this post is one real charge. Line up a model's October ads by what each one was charged, and the median is the charge in the middle (or the lower of the two middle charges, when there's an even number of ads). So 63 and 70 are each what one real ad was charged.

Why we publish a median instead of an average

To get an average, you add up every charge and divide by the number of ads, so a few long or high-resolution renders can drag it a long way from the middle of the line. A median doesn't move when the priciest ads get pricier, because it depends only on which charge is in the middle. What makes it useful for budgeting is that at least half of a model's October ads were charged its median or less, and at least half were charged its median or more.

Seedance 2.0 at 63 credits

The median Seedance 2.0 ad in October was charged 63 credits. That's about $3.09 on Plus and about $4.73 on Starter, where each credit costs more. On Starter, a single median render uses close to a third of the month's 200 credits.

For scale, take one Seedance 2.0 render from July, an eight-second clip rather than a finished ad. Under our July price list, it was charged 42 credits. On today's list, the same clip at 720p is 36 credits, a little over half the October median.

Seedance 2.5 at 70 credits

The median Seedance 2.5 ad was charged 70 credits. That's about $3.43 on Plus and about $5.25 on Starter. On Starter, one median render uses a little over a third of the month's credits. If you haven't tried this model yet, our Seedance 2.5 explainer walks through it, including its 30-second single take.

Each median comes to a different dollar amount on each plan, because a credit costs less on the bigger plans and with annual billing. Prices as of November 7, 2026.

Plan and billingOne creditSeedance 2.0 median (63 credits)Seedance 2.5 median (70 credits)
Starter, monthly7.5 centsabout $4.73about $5.25
Plus, monthly4.9 centsabout $3.09about $3.43
Plus, billed annually3.9 centsabout $2.46about $2.73
Ultra 3,000, monthly4.3 centsabout $2.71about $3.01
Ultra 3,000, billed annually3.3 centsabout $2.08about $2.31

We worked out each cell ourselves by multiplying the median's credits by what one credit costs on that plan. Since you pay for a plan rather than per ad, each dollar figure is the value of the credits one median render used.

Reading the two medians side by side

The two medians are 7 credits apart, about 34 cents on Plus. At both 720p and 1080p, a second of Seedance 2.5 costs more than a second of Seedance 2.0, so at the same length and resolution, the gap between the two price lists is wider than that. Since a median is a charge, the pair can't tell you whether Seedance 2.5 ads ran shorter. All it tells you is that the two middle charges were close.

What the median counts and what it leaves out

We kept our definition narrow on purpose, and it decides what you can and can't read into the two figures.

What one ad's charge covers

For each ad, we count the charge on the request that made its video. Pictures, a voiceover or captions made for the same ad were separate charges, so they aren't in the 63 or the 70. The one exception we know of is a Discover product template, where the picture edit that puts your product in the creator's hand is billed together with the Seedance 2.0 clip.

Why a charge doesn't tell you an ad's length

The number 63 shows up twice on the Seedance 2.0 price list. It's the price of a 14-second clip at 720p, the default. It's also the price of a 7-second clip at 1080p, a resolution we offer for Seedance 2.0 through our API but not in the app's resolution picker. Because the median comes from ads lined up by charge alone, it can't tell you how long the median ad ran or what resolution it was rendered at.

Takes, chat ads and what doesn't count as an ad

A few rules decide which videos make it into the line at all.

  • When one request asks for several takes, each finished video gets its own share of the request's charge (the total divided by the number of takes, then rounded), so no single ad carries the whole charge of a multi-take request.
  • Ads made in the chat aren't in either median, because a chat production is charged as a whole rather than per finished video.
  • Uploads aren't ads, and neither are copies made to add captions, remove a background or change a voice.
  • We leave out our own workspaces and every video an admin made, and we use UTC to decide which month a video falls in.

What the extras cost on top

To finish an ad, you'd add these pieces to the render, and each one is charged separately. Prices as of November 7, 2026, the day we opened GPT Image 2.6 Sunburst and Flare to every customer.

  • A voiceover is 1 credit for every 400 characters of script, rounded up. A 450-character script (about 30 seconds read aloud) is 2 credits.
  • Captions are billed by the minute, with a one-minute minimum, so a clip under a minute is 3 credits in the classic style or 5 animated. At 4K, the price doubles.
  • The picture tool opens on Nano Banana Pro, where a picture is 2 credits at 1K or 2K.
  • On GPT Image 2.6 Sunburst and Flare, a picture is 1 credit at low or medium quality and 2 at high.

For an ad under a minute that isn't in 4K, each of those is 5 credits or less. That's about 25 cents on Plus.

What a month of each plan buys at the median

Divide a plan's monthly credits by one median and you get a rough count of renders at that charge. It's arithmetic on a single figure, so it says nothing about how many ads anyone actually made.

Renders per plan at October's medians

  • Starter is $15 a month for 200 credits. That covers 3 Seedance 2.0 renders at the median, or 2 Seedance 2.5 renders.
  • Plus is $49 a month for 1,000 credits. That covers 15 Seedance 2.0 renders at the median, or 14 Seedance 2.5 renders.
  • Ultra 3,000 is $129 a month. That covers 47 Seedance 2.0 renders at the median, or 42 Seedance 2.5 renders.

The voiceover, captions and pictures for each ad come out of the same credits, so a plan covers a few fewer finished ads than those counts. And because unused monthly credits don't carry over to the next month, each count is for one month.

What annual billing changes

A yearly plan renews once a year, but its credits still arrive every month, so billing Plus or Ultra 3,000 annually leaves those counts where they are. Instead, it lowers what each render costs. At the Seedance 2.0 median, that's about $2.46 on Plus and about $2.08 on Ultra 3,000. Starter is only sold monthly.

Why our pricing card shows a bigger number

Our pricing page says Starter's 200 credits make about 8 Seedance 2.0 videos. That count comes from dividing the credits by the price of a 5-second clip at the default resolution, which is 23 credits on today's list. The result is a little under 9, and the card shows it rounded down to 8. The card's other count is 100 Nano Banana Pro pictures. That one comes from dividing the same credits by the 2 credits a picture costs at 2K. The card also lists up to 5 UGC videos a month, a ceiling based on 40 credits an ad, which is below both October medians. At October's median charge, the same Starter credits cover 3 renders.

The card counts five-second clips at the default resolution, while the median reflects what finished ads were charged. So we'd plan real ads from the median and treat the card as a guide to short clips.

September vs. October, and the models with no figure

Two things limit how far you can read these numbers. September's figure covers only part of that month, and several models have no October figure at all.

September's 39 covers only ten days

September's median Seedance 2.0 ad was charged 39 credits. That figure counts only charges made from September 20 at 17:00 UTC onward, when we changed our credit unit and our price list. That leaves a little over ten days of the month. Earlier charges were recorded in the old unit and priced on the old list, so they can't be lined up with later ones.

What a trend would need

October is the first full month under the current credit unit. A trend needs at least one more full month read the same way, so we wouldn't treat the gap between 39 and 63 as one. Seedance 2.5 didn't meet our publishing rule in September, which leaves it with no September figure to compare with its 70.

Models without a published median

Google Veo 3.1, Kling v3 Pro, Seedance 2.0 Mini and the talking actor (at 720p and at 480p) have no October median here. Their rows didn't meet our rule of 10 or more workspaces with none making more than half the ads. When a row misses that rule, we don't publish a number for it, high or low. The rule keeps one busy workspace from setting a model's figure on its own.

A few of our other posts price single clips and whole ads on their own terms.

How we price the render behind each median

We price a Seedance render by its length and resolution, in whole credits. Both lists in this section are current as of November 7, 2026. Neither has changed since September 21, so all of October ran on one list per model.

What 63 credits buys on the Seedance 2.0 list

  • A 14-second clip at 720p, the default resolution.
  • A 7-second clip at 1080p, through our API only.
  • Two 5-second clips at 720p (23 credits each), with 17 credits to spare.

A 10-second clip at 720p is 45 credits. The longest clip, 15 seconds, is 68 credits at 720p. Our Seedance 2.0 pricing guide walks through the model's prices in more detail.

What 70 credits buys on the Seedance 2.5 list

  • A 10-second clip at 720p, the default resolution.
  • A 5-second clip at 1080p (60 credits), with 10 credits to spare.
  • A 23-second clip at 480p (69 credits).

A full 30-second take at 720p is 210 credits. Each item above is a list price near the median charge. None of them describes the median ad, since the median comes from ads sorted by charge alone.

A Seedance 2.5 render at 60 credits

One Seedance 2.5 render from September ran five seconds at 1080p. It was charged 60 credits, the same as today's list price for that setting. It's a single clip rather than a finished ad.

Picking a plan from the median

We offer Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5 alongside our other video models, on plans you pay for from the first month. If you know roughly how many renders you'll make, pick the plan whose monthly credits cover them at the median, with a few credits per ad left over for the extras.

Check what a month of credits covers

Plus is $49 a month for 1,000 credits, enough for 15 Seedance 2.0 renders at October's median charge. Starter is $15 a month for 200.

What to budget for your next Seedance ad

One Seedance 2.0 ad, extras included

Start from October's median, add one of each extra, and the budget comes to 70 credits at prices as of November 7, 2026.

  • The render at the October median, 63 credits.
  • A voiceover from a 450-character script, 2 credits.
  • Classic captions on a clip under a minute, 3 credits.
  • One picture on Nano Banana Pro at 2K, 2 credits.

That's about $3.43 on Plus and about $5.25 on Starter.

The same budget on Seedance 2.5

Use the Seedance 2.5 median of 70 credits as the render, and the same extras bring the total to 77 credits. That's about $3.77 on Plus and about $5.78 on Starter.

Budgeting for several versions of one ad

If you test a few versions of one ad, each version is its own render, so the render budget multiplies.

  • Three Seedance 2.0 versions at the median come to 189 credits, nearly all of Starter's monthly credits.
  • On Plus, those same three use a little under a fifth of the month's 1,000 credits.
  • Five Seedance 2.5 versions at the median come to 350 credits, about $17.15 on Plus.

Either test fits in a month of Plus, with credits left over for the voiceovers, captions and pictures. Our post on Kalshi's AI ads covers a much longer run of takes and what the unusable ones cost.

From one ad to a month

At the Seedance 2.0 budget, a month of Plus credits covers 14 ads. At the Seedance 2.5 budget, it covers 12. Before you pick a plan, multiply the number of ads you expect to make in a month by your own budget for one, then compare the total with the plan's monthly credits.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to make an AI video ad?

In October 2026, the median finished ad that customers made in Novoads with Seedance 2.0 was charged 63 credits, and the median Seedance 2.5 ad was charged 70. On Plus, that's about $3.09 and $3.43 worth of credits. On Starter, where a credit costs more, it's about $4.73 and $5.25. Both medians cover the video request alone, so a voiceover, captions or a picture made for the same ad costs extra.

How much does a 30-second AI video ad cost?

Our October medians are broken out by model rather than by length, so neither one tells you what a 30-second ad was charged. On today's list, Seedance 2.5 renders a single take of up to 30 seconds, and a full take at 720p is 210 credits. That's about $10.29 on Plus. Seedance 2.0 clips top out at 15 seconds, and a full 15-second clip at 720p is 68 credits.

Does the median include the voiceover and captions?

No. The median is the charge for the request that made the video, and voiceovers, captions and pictures are charged separately. A voiceover is 1 credit for every 400 characters of script, rounded up. Captions on a clip under a minute are 3 credits in the classic style and 5 animated. A GPT Image 2.6 picture is 1 credit at low or medium quality.

How many Seedance ads does a Novoads plan cover?

Dividing a plan's monthly credits by October's medians gives you a rough guide, though it's just arithmetic on one figure. Plus has 1,000 credits a month. That's enough for 15 renders at the Seedance 2.0 median, or 14 at the Seedance 2.5 median. Starter's 200 credits cover 3 or 2, and Ultra 3,000 covers 47 or 42. Voiceovers, captions and pictures come out of the same credits, and unused monthly credits don't carry over.

Key Takeaways

  • In October 2026, the median finished ad that customers made in Novoads with Seedance 2.0 was charged 63 credits, and the median Seedance 2.5 ad was charged 70.
  • On Plus, those medians work out to about $3.09 and $3.43 worth of credits. On Starter, where each credit costs more, they're about $4.73 and $5.25.
  • Each median is the charge for the video request alone. A voiceover, captions and pictures made for the same ad are charged separately, a few credits each for a short ad.
  • A median charge doesn't tell you how long an ad ran. On the Seedance 2.0 price list, 63 credits is the price of a 14-second clip at 720p. It's also the price of a 7-second clip at 1080p.
  • September's Seedance 2.0 median of 39 credits covers only the last ten days of that month, so you can't draw a trend line from it to October's figure.
