On 2026-10-21 D-ID's Studio page listed nine packages up to $343 a month, with commercial use starting at Pro ($29 a month, or $191 billed annually); we price one 30-second talking ad on each, beside the same ad in Novoads.

Fifty-three cents an ad, after $191 up front
D-ID's Studio pricing page, read on 2026-10-21, sells nine packages from Lite up to $343 a month in US dollars, between a $0 14-day trial and an Enterprise tier with no listed price. The first plan licensed for commercial use is Pro, at $29 a month or $191 billed annually, which the page displays as $16 a month.
Spread over a year, that $191 Pro package buys 360 thirty-second talking videos. About 53 cents each. One video a month still costs the whole plan.
We read both of D-ID's pricing pages in a browser with scripts running, opened every Studio package on both billing toggles, and checked D-ID's FAQ for what a credit buys. We have not used D-ID hands-on and made no D-ID video, so every D-ID cost below is arithmetic on its published prices. Then we price the same 30-second ad on each Novoads plan. The arithmetic favors D-ID per ad by a wide margin, and favors Novoads only when you need one ad a month.
D-ID's nine packages on both billing toggles
Three sizes each of Lite, Pro and Advanced
D-ID's FAQ, updated 2026-08-25, says: "On each plan (Lite, Pro, Advanced) you have 3 packages to choose from." Three plans in three sizes make the nine. Each package is a credit count, and on every one of them 4 credits buy 1 minute of video a month: 40 credits is 10 minutes, 60 is 15, 400 is 100.
The page opens on annual billing, under a "Save up to 45%" label. So the first prices a visitor sees are yearly totals shown per month, rounded for display.
The table, as the page showed it
| Package | Monthly billing | Annual, billed | Annual, shown monthly | Video a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite, 40 credits | $5.9 | $56 | $4.7 | 10 min |
| Lite, 52 credits | $7.7 | $74 | $6.1 | 13 min |
| Lite, 64 credits | $9.4 | $90 | $7.5 | 16 min |
| Pro, 60 credits | $29 | $191 | $16 | 15 min |
| Pro, 100 credits | $49 | $323 | $27 | 25 min |
| Pro, 240 credits | $118 | $776 | $64.7 | 60 min |
| Advanced, 400 credits | $196 | $1,293 | $108 | 100 min |
| Advanced, 600 credits | $294 | $1,940 | $162 | 150 min |
| Advanced, 700 credits | $343 | $2,263 | $189 | 175 min |
All figures are US dollars as read on 2026-10-21. The page prints a bare $, and its price script formats every figure as USD from a single price list with no country branches, so our reading from Chile should match a reader anywhere. Annual billing takes 20% off Lite and 45% off Pro and Advanced: on the default Pro package, $191 against $348 for twelve months at $29. The shown monthly figure is rounded. $191 a year is $15.92 a month, which the page displays as $16.
One row on this page is a live test
The Lite prices above are a control list. D-ID's price script carries a test flag, lite-plan-price-change-test, that swaps Lite to a second list: $10 a month, or $96 a year, for the same 40 credits. All seven fresh browser sessions we opened on 2026-10-21 got the control prices. Pro and Advanced have one list each, so their rows should read the same for every visitor.
Below and above the nine
The Trial costs $0 for 14 days and includes 3 minutes across Videos, Agents, Video Translate and the API. Enterprise shows "Let's talk" in place of a price, with unlimited video minutes.

What a D-ID credit buys
Fifteen seconds, rounded up
D-ID's FAQ says: "Each credit is worth up to 15 seconds of video." Its own example: "a 40-second video consumes 3 credits." The Studio pricing page adds that a video's length "is rounded up to the nearest 15-second interval," so 1 minute 10 seconds bills as 1 minute 15 seconds.
For a 30-second ad the rounding costs nothing: it is exactly 2 credits, half a plan minute. A 31-second take is 3 credits. Our D-ID vs HeyGen comparison works through what that 15-second step does to short hooks, and our guide to AI video credits covers comparing one vendor's credit with another's.
Minutes that reset every month
The Studio pricing FAQ says: "Minutes do not accumulate, they are renewed every month and unused minutes become void." D-ID's general FAQ says the same about credits, and points anyone who runs out to the bigger package of the same plan.
Our reading: the per-ad prices further down assume you use the whole allowance. A month with one ad still costs the full plan. Novoads plan credits also reset monthly, so the same caution applies on both sides.
A first month on another rule
The Lite, Pro and Advanced cards each promise "Unlimited videos for your first month," with a footnote: "Reasonable use limits apply." The fair-use section it links to says: "Usage must remain within reasonable bounds consistent with normal individual or business use."
Our reading: month one on a paid D-ID plan is not metered by minutes, within fair use, so the per-minute math starts in month two.
Studio minutes also pay for the API
"Minutes used via the API are deducted from the same balance as your web version of D-ID," the Studio FAQ says, and each card lists its minutes "for Videos, Agents, Video Translate & API." D-ID also publishes a separate API price list, priced further down.
Where D-ID's commercial license starts
Five tiers, two licenses
D-ID's features table, read on 2026-10-21, splits its tiers like this:
- Trial: Personal use, with a full-screen watermark.
- Lite: Personal use, with a D-ID watermark.
- Pro: Commercial use, with an AI watermark.
- Advanced: Commercial use, with a custom logo in place of the watermark.
- Enterprise: Commercial use, with a custom logo.
How D-ID defines each license
The page defines the personal license as "For non-business projects or individual use. Suitable for personal hobbies, learning, or non-commercial content creation." The commercial one reads "For business-related projects. Includes any content or media used for marketing, profit, or in connection with a business or organization." Advanced's card explains its custom logo as "Remove the watermark and replace it with your own logo, or leave it blank."
What else rises with the tier
Beyond minutes and the license, the same features table counts personal avatars (custom avatars made from an uploaded video) and voice clones:
- Lite: 1 personal avatar.
- Pro: 3 personal avatars and 1 voice clone.
- Advanced: 5 personal avatars and 3 voice clones.
D-ID's FAQ gives the same clone counts: "Pro and API Launch plans receive 1 cloned voice; Advanced and API Scale plans receive 3 voices." Our D-ID review covers what D-ID's avatars do well in an ad and who they fit.
What the license does to the entry price
Our reading: an ad is marketing, so by D-ID's own definitions the cheapest D-ID plan for one is Pro, at $29 a month or $191 a year. Lite's $5.9 control price buys personal projects. Every ad price below starts at Pro.
One 30-second talking ad on every D-ID package
The arithmetic
A 30-second video is 2 credits, so a package's ads per month are its credits divided by 2, and one ad costs the price divided by that count. The annual figures divide the billed yearly total by twelve months of ads, never the rounded monthly display.
On Pro and Advanced
- Pro, 60 credits: $29 a month for 30 ads is about 97 cents each; $191 a year for 360 ads is about 53 cents.
- Pro, 100 credits: $49 a month for 50 ads is 98 cents; $323 a year for 600 ads is about 54 cents.
- Pro, 240 credits: $118 a month for 120 ads is about 98 cents; $776 a year for 1,440 ads is about 54 cents.
- Advanced, 400 to 700 credits: $196, $294 and $343 a month for 200, 300 and 350 ads is 98 cents each; $1,293, $1,940 and $2,263 a year come to about 54 cents.
Our reading: on D-ID's commercial Studio packages a 30-second talking ad costs about 53 to 98 cents. Annual billing nearly halves it, and a bigger package buys more ads at the same rate, not cheaper ones.
On Lite and D-ID's API list
At its control prices Lite works out to 23 to 30 cents an ad, but under the personal license above, so it is not an ad price.
D-ID's API page, read the same day, sells its own plans, priced here on monthly billing:
- Build, $18 a month: up to 16 minutes of video, on a Personal license with a D-ID watermark.
- Launch, $50 a month: up to 45 minutes on a Commercial license, so about 56 cents per 30-second ad; billed annually at $420 a year, about 39 cents.
- Scale, $198 a month: up to 200 minutes on a Commercial license, so about 50 cents per ad; billed annually at $1,663.2 a year, about 35 cents.
Our reading: for a team with developers to call it, the API is D-ID's cheapest route to a commercial talking ad.
For the same 30-second ad on two other avatar tools, see what it costs on HeyGen and what it costs on Synthesia.
How Novoads prices the same 30-second ad
Novoads turns a script into a talking-actor ad and bills it per started minute: 200 credits at 720p and 100 at 480p, for any take up to 60 seconds.
Our run: 15 seconds, one started minute
Talking actor · a 15-second kitchen script about switching to reusable silicone bags, made through the Novoads connector · 200 credits at 720p · rendered 2026-10-09
On 2026-10-09 one call through the Novoads MCP connector returned a 15.3-second talking-actor ad in 1 minute 47 seconds. A library actor read the 37-word kitchen script word for word, and the run cost 200 credits at 720p. A 30-second or 60-second take would have cost the same 200, because the meter counts started minutes. On D-ID's meter, the same 15.3 seconds would round up to 30 seconds, or 2 credits.
The same ad on each Novoads plan
- Starter, $15 for 200 credits (monthly only): one 30-second ad at 720p uses the whole month, $15.00; at 480p the month covers two, $7.50 each.
- Plus, $49 for 1,000 credits: 200 credits cost $9.80, five ads a month; at $39 a month billed annually, $7.80.
- Ultra 3,000, $129 for 3,000 credits: $8.60 an ad, 15 a month; $6.60 at the annual $99 a month.
- Ultra 6,000 and Ultra 9,000, $250 and $375: $8.33 an ad, 30 and 45 a month; $6.47 and $6.00 billed annually.
- At 480p, every figure halves: from $7.50 on Starter down to $3.00 on Ultra 9,000 billed annually.
Every plan is listed on the Novoads pricing page.
One balance for the dashboard, the API and the connector
Screenshot: novoads.ai/pricing, the FAQ answer "Is the API included in my plan?": the REST API, the MCP connector and the Claude Code skill pack work on every plan, with no separate API tier and no extra fee, taken 2026-10-22
Our pricing FAQ answers "Is the API included in my plan?" with yes: the REST API, the MCP connector and the Claude Code skill pack spend the same credits at the same rate as the dashboard. D-ID's Studio minutes also cover its API, though D-ID sells a separate API list as well.
Where each price wins
D-ID wins per ad, at every volume
Per 30-second talking ad, D-ID's commercial Studio packages cost about 53 to 98 cents. Novoads costs $6.00 to $15.00 at 720p and $3.00 to $7.50 at 480p. D-ID's 100-credit Pro package costs $49 a month and covers 50 ads; Novoads' Plus plan costs the same $49 and covers 5 at 720p, or 10 at 480p.
Edge: D-ID, by about ten times per ad (97 cents on monthly Pro against $9.80 on Plus).
If you test many openings a month, as in a ten-hook test on one ad, that gap is the number that matters.
Novoads wins on one ad a month
If you need a single commercial talking ad a month, Starter at $15 costs less than D-ID's cheapest commercial plan, Pro at $29 a month or $191 paid up front. At 480p the same $15 covers two ads.
Edge: Novoads, by $14 a month for the first ad.
A month of ads, three ways
The smallest plan on each side whose monthly allowance covers a month of 30-second talking ads, on monthly billing:
- One ad: D-ID Pro at $29, or Novoads Starter at $15.
- Ten ads: D-ID Pro at $29, with room for 30. In Novoads, Plus at 480p for $49, or Ultra 3,000 at 720p for $129.
- Thirty ads: D-ID Pro at $29, used to the last minute. In Novoads, Ultra 3,000 at 480p for $129, or Ultra 6,000 at 720p for $250.
Past the first ad or two, the D-ID bill stays flat at $29 all the way to 30 ads, while ours climbs a rung at a time.
What narrows the gap, and what does not
A longer script narrows it
A 60-second script is 4 D-ID credits, about $1.93 on monthly Pro ($29 for 15 minutes), and still 200 credits in Novoads, $9.80 on Plus. The gap falls from about ten times to about five. D-ID still wins.
Per second, our clip models do not close it
Novoads also sells video models that render a scene from a prompt or a product photo. The cheapest at 720p, Seedance 2.0 Mini, costs 1 credit a second, so a 15-second clip is 15 credits, about 74 cents at the Plus rate. Kling v3 Pro is 30 credits for 15 seconds (about $1.47), Omni Flash is 24 credits for 8 seconds at 720p (about $1.18), and Google Veo 3.1 is a flat 72 credits (about $4).
Across our plans Mini at 720p runs 3 to 7.5 cents a second, and D-ID's commercial Studio minutes run about 1.8 to 3.3 cents. A generated scene and a talking face are different shots, but per second D-ID is still cheaper. Our Seedance 2.0 pricing breakdown covers what that model costs through its API and other apps.
Which one fits your month
Choose D-ID when:
- you ship more than one or two talking ads a month, since one Pro package covers 30;
- you can pay a year up front and use every minute, which brings an ad to about 53 cents;
- you have developers for its API, where Scale billed annually comes to about 35 cents an ad.
Choose Novoads when:
- you need one commercial talking ad a month, or two at 480p, for $15;
- you want talking ads, generated scenes and product clips from one credit balance.
If D-ID's license or meter does not fit at all, our roundup of D-ID alternatives matched to the job lists seven other tools.
Price the minutes you will use
D-ID sells talking minutes cheaply and in bulk, and its bill rewards whoever uses all of them. Novoads charges more per talking ad and less for the first one. Decide by how many ads you will ship next month, not by the rate on the card, because a cheap minute is only cheap when someone speaks into it.
To weigh the two products on more than price, start with Novoads as a D-ID alternative.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is D-ID Studio free?
Only as a trial, and not for ads. D-ID's Studio pricing page, read on 2026-10-21, shows a Trial at $0 for 14 days with 3 minutes of video, a Personal use license and a full-screen watermark. Paid plans start at Lite, $5.9 a month on monthly billing for 10 minutes (the control price of a live Lite price test), also on a Personal use license, with a D-ID watermark. The first plan licensed for commercial use is Pro, at $29 a month or $191 billed annually.
How much does D-ID cost per minute of video?
On D-ID's Studio page (read 2026-10-21), Pro's 60-credit package is $29 a month for 15 minutes, about $1.93 a minute, or $191 a year, about $1.06 a minute. Advanced's 400-credit package is $196 a month for 100 minutes, $1.96 a minute. D-ID's FAQ says each credit is worth up to 15 seconds of video, and its pricing FAQ rounds every video up to the next 15-second interval.
Do unused D-ID minutes roll over?
No. D-ID's Studio pricing FAQ says: 'Minutes do not accumulate, they are renewed every month and unused minutes become void.' Its general FAQ says the same about credits, and suggests the bigger package of the same plan if you run out before the month ends.
How much does an AI avatar video subscription cost?
It depends on the tool and on the license you need. On 2026-10-21 D-ID's Studio plans ran up to $343 a month on monthly billing, from Lite's $5.9 control price in a live price test, with commercial use from $29 a month (Pro). Novoads starts at $15/month (Starter, 200 credits per month). Plus is $49/month (1,000 credits), and Ultra starts at $129/month (3,000 credits) for more volume. All plans are published on novoads.ai/pricing.
