Hedra Pricing 2026: Plans From $20 and What a Talking Ad Costs
Hedra's Studio plans cost $20 to $100 a month in US dollars, billed monthly, on its pricing page of October 21, 2026. We price what the credits buy by the second, and one 30-second talking ad on every plan, beside Novoads.

Hedra's plan price is the easy part of the bill
Hedra's cheapest Studio plan, Basic, costs $20 (US dollars) a month for 2,000 credits, billed monthly, as hedra.com/pricing showed it to a visitor from Chile on October 21, 2026. Pro, Ultra and Teams cost $50, $100 and $75 a month, and every credit buys video by the second, so the model you pick sets what each ad costs.
That second part moves budgets. Hedra's own Character 3 model spends 7 credits for each second of 720p video, which turns Basic's 2,000 monthly credits into about 285 seconds of finished footage. VEED Fabric 1.0, the third-party engine that also runs the Novoads talking actor, costs 30 credits a second at 720p in the same price list.
We priced one 30-second talking ad on every Hedra plan and on Hedra's API wallet, then the same ad in Novoads, which publishes this blog. Hedra wins at 30 seconds. At a full minute on the shared engine, the started-minute bill catches up. We have not used Hedra hands-on: every Hedra figure below comes from its own pages, read on the dates given.
Every Hedra Studio plan on October 21, 2026
Hedra's pricing page now opens on an API tab, and the Studio plans appear only after a click on the Studio tab, which paints them with JavaScript. This is what the painted tab showed on October 21, 2026, with our own per-credit arithmetic in the fourth column.
| Plan | Price a month | Credits a month | Per 1,000 credits | Listed extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $20 | 2,000 | $10.00 | Slower generations |
| Pro | $50 | 7,200 | $6.94 | Faster generation |
| Ultra | $100 | 18,000 | $5.56 | Fastest generation, bigger allowances |
| Teams | $75 | 14,400 | $5.21 | Fastest generation, Teams Plan Access |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | n/a | Contact sales |
Every paid card also lists commercial use, and Ultra's adds "Allowances up to 57,600 credits/month", quoted here as printed. The per-credit spread matters more than the sticker price: a credit costs 1 cent on Basic and a little over half a cent on Ultra and Teams, so the same video costs close to half as much on the bigger plans. One oddity: Teams, at $75 for 14,400 credits, buys a credit for less than Ultra does at $100 for 18,000, about 0.52 cents against 0.56, if a team plan fits how you buy.
What the cards say about billing
- Billing: every card read "Billed monthly", and the plan list behind the cards holds one monthly price per plan.
- Annual plans: we found no yearly price on the page, so this post quotes none.
- Currency: the card prints a bare "$". We read it as US dollars because Hedra's page code checks its offers against the currency "usd" and its API runs on "one prepaid USD wallet".
- Checkout: the in-app plans page sits behind a sign-in, so the total with any local tax was not read.
The $20 floor, and an $8 plan in the code
Hedra's page code also holds a fifth plan, Go, at $8 a month for 800 credits. The page shows that card only when an offer check on Hedra's servers returns an offer. In the anonymous readings of October 21 and 22, 2026, no Go card appeared and the check returned no offer, so Basic at $20 was the cheapest card. A signed-in account or a test group may see the $8 card, so read "from $20" as what an anonymous visitor saw.
Hedra repriced in late September
Archived copies of the pricing page date the change:
- Basic: $15 for 1,500 credits on September 14, 2026, and $20 for 2,000 credits by September 29.
- Pro and Ultra: by September 29 they had replaced the old Creator and Professional cards.
- Teams: unchanged at $75 for 14,400 credits.
Treat any Hedra price read before late September as out of date. Our Hedra vs HeyGen comparison covers how the two products differ; its price section predates this change.
What each second costs inside Hedra Studio
Hedra's pricing FAQ says "Credits are deducted based on the generated video length" and gives its own example: a 10-second Character-3 video is charged for 10 seconds, not a full minute. The per-second rates live in the price list that Hedra's Studio app loads for its model picker, which we read signed out on October 21, 2026. Hedra's docs tell users to "Check the live selector before generating", so treat every rate here as that day's reading. For how credit meters compare across vendors, see our guide to what one video credit buys.
Character 3 and Hedra Avatar: 7 credits a second at 720p
Hedra's two in-house avatar models share one rate, scaled by resolution:
- 540p, where the picker opens: 3.5 credits a second, or 3.5 cents on Basic
- 720p: 7 credits a second, or 7 cents on Basic and about 3.65 cents on Teams
- 1080p: 8.75 credits a second, or 8.75 cents on Basic
Hedra says Character 3 takes image, text and audio together to make speech-driven video, the format our guide to spokesperson videos from one photo walks through, and that it "runs to ten minutes in a single generation". Length is rarely the limit; the meter is. Our Hedra review covers which ads Hedra fits and where it falls short.
VEED Fabric 1.0 and the other third-party models
Hedra's talking-avatar page says Omnihuman, Kling AI Avatar and VEED Fabric "run on the same engine and the same key". In Studio, VEED Fabric 1.0 costs 30 credits a second at 720p and 15 at 480p: 30 cents a second on Basic and about 15.6 on Teams. The price list marks Fabric premium, and whether Basic can run it was not visible to us signed out. The same list prices Creatify Aurora at 28 credits a second at 720p and HeyGen Photo Avatar 4 at 20. Both vendors also sell their own plans, covered in our Creatify pricing and HeyGen pricing breakdowns.
The voice is a separate line
Every talking clip needs a voice track, and the same price list sells one. ElevenLabs V3 costs 15 credits per 1,000 characters there. A 30-second script runs about 450 characters at roughly 15 characters a second of speech, so the voice adds about 7 credits, or 4 to 7 cents an ad by plan, if Hedra bills it pro rata.

Hedra's API wallet: cents per second, no plan
The API tab carries Hedra's other offer: "Pay per output and per token from a prepaid dollar balance. No subscription, no seats, no minimum." Hedra's developer post of October 6, 2026 says the API "gives your code more than 110 generation models through one API key and one prepaid wallet". Each model page lists its own rate in cents:
- Character 3: 2.5 cents a second at 540p, 5 at 720p and 6.25 at 1080p; Hedra Avatar lists the same three rates.
- VEED Fabric 1.0: 10.71 cents a second at 480p and 21.43 at 720p.
When the wallet beats a plan
Per second at 720p, set against the plans:
- Character 3: 5 cents on the API; 7 on Basic, about 4.86 on Pro, 3.89 on Ultra and 3.65 on Teams
- VEED Fabric 1.0: 21.43 cents on the API; 30 on Basic, about 20.83 on Pro, 16.67 on Ultra and 15.63 on Teams
So the wallet undercuts Basic and loses from Pro up. A light user who renders a few clips a month saves by skipping the subscription.
The two pots do not mix
Hedra's API docs say "Studio subscription credits are separate; they do not fund v3 jobs." The developer post pitches the wallet to code, so in our reading it suits a team with a developer; a marketer working in the Studio app will usually stay on a plan.
One 30-second talking ad on every Hedra plan
The Hedra clip formula: dollars = seconds × credits per second × the plan's price per credit. Thirty seconds of Character 3 at 720p is 30 × 7 = 210 credits, which is $2.10 on Basic at 1 cent a credit. The same arithmetic across the plans and the API wallet, before the voice:
| Plan | Character 3, 720p | Fabric 1.0, 720p | Fabric 1.0, 480p |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $2.10 | $9.00 | $4.50 |
| Pro | $1.46 | $6.25 | $3.13 |
| Ultra | $1.17 | $5.00 | $2.50 |
| Teams | $1.09 | $4.69 | $2.34 |
| API wallet | $1.50 | $6.43 | $3.21 |
Resolution is the cheapest lever in that table. Fabric at 480p costs half its 720p figure, and Character 3 at 540p costs half of its own 720p figure: $1.05 a 30-second ad on Basic and $0.55 on Teams.
Which Hedra plan fits your monthly ad count
Spent only on 30-second ads at 720p, each plan's monthly credits make a fixed number of ads, which is the cleanest way to pick:
- API wallet: a few clips a month and a developer to run them, at $1.50 a Character 3 ad.
- Basic ($20): 9 Character 3 ads, or 2 on Fabric, with slower generations.
- Pro ($50): 34 Character 3 ads, or 8 on Fabric.
- Teams ($75): 68 Character 3 ads, or 16 on Fabric, at the lowest price per credit on the page.
- Ultra ($100): 85 Character 3 ads, or 20 on Fabric, the most credits of the four.
What the table leaves out
- The voice: about 7 credits an ad on ElevenLabs V3.
- Retakes: every generation is metered by its length, so a second take costs its seconds again.
- 1080p rounding: at 8.75 credits a second, a 30-second ad lands on a half credit, and how Hedra rounds it was not visible to us.
- Credit packs: Hedra's FAQ says extra credits come "by upgrading your plan or by purchasing credit packs"; we did not see pack prices on the public page, so they are not in this table.
- Unused credits: monthly credits "do not carry over between billing cycles", while pack credits "will not expire".
- Tax: checkout totals sit behind a sign-in and were not read.
The same talking ad in Novoads, at 30 and 60 seconds
The Novoads talking actor runs on VEED Fabric 1.0, the engine in the two Fabric columns above, but bills per started minute: 200 credits at 720p and 100 at 480p, whether the ad lasts 10 seconds or 60. Our plans start at $15 a month for Starter's 200 credits (monthly only); Plus is $49 a month for 1,000 credits, or $39 a month billed annually; Ultra starts at $129 a month for 3,000. Like Hedra's monthly grants, our plan credits reset each month.
Screenshot: novoads.ai/pricing, the FAQ "How do credits work?" with its Talking Actors panel open: 200 credits for the first minute, 200 for each additional started minute or actor, 100 a started minute at 480p, taken 2026-10-22
At 30 seconds, Hedra is cheaper
A 30-second Novoads ad at 720p takes 200 credits, which costs:
- Starter ($15 for 200 credits): $15.00, the whole month
- Plus ($49 for 1,000): $9.80, or $7.80 billed annually
- Ultra 3,000 ($129): $8.60, or $6.60 billed annually
- Ultra 6,000 and 9,000: $8.33, or $6.47 and $6.00 billed annually
Inside Hedra the same engine costs $4.69 to $9.00 by plan, and Character 3 costs $1.09 to $2.10. Per 30-second talking ad, Hedra costs less. At 480p the Novoads ad halves to 100 credits, $4.90 on Plus, against $2.34 to $4.50 for Fabric at 480p in Hedra.
At 60 seconds, the started minute pays off
Double the script and Hedra's meter doubles. Sixty seconds of Fabric at 720p is 1,800 credits:
- Hedra: $9.38 on Teams, $10.00 on Ultra, $12.50 on Pro, $18.00 on Basic and $12.86 on the API
- Novoads: still 200 credits, so $9.80 on Plus and $6.00 to $8.60 on the Ultra rungs
That puts Plus under Hedra's Basic, Pro and Ultra, and every Ultra rung under all four Hedra plans; Starter's $15.00 beats only Basic. On the same engine at a full minute, Novoads costs less on most plan pairings, while Hedra's own Character 3 stays cheaper at $2.19 to $4.20.
A lower entry ticket and cheaper clips
The way in costs $15 for Starter against $20 for Hedra Basic, though Starter's 200 credits make one 720p talking ad a month and Basic's 2,000 make nine 30-second Character 3 ads. Clip models flip the picture. Hedra's price list, read on October 22, 2026, charges 15 credits a second for Seedance 2.0 Mini at 720p; Novoads charges 1 credit a second. A 15-second Seedance 2.0 Mini clip therefore costs $1.17 to $2.25 across Hedra's plans and $0.45 to $1.13 across ours. On that clip, every Novoads plan costs less than every Hedra plan. Across the Novoads roster, at the Plus rate, a clip runs from about 25 cents for a five-second Seedance 2.0 Mini clip to about $4 for an eight-second Google Veo 3.1 clip, and about $10 for a full 30-second Seedance 2.5 take.
How Novoads solves the full-minute talking ad
Novoads turns a script and a chosen AI actor into a finished talking ad, and because it bills the started minute, a full 60-second script costs the same as a short one. Our own run, made through the Novoads connector on October 9, 2026:
- Actor and voice: library actor María, one of our AI actors, with the voice Alexandra
- Script: "If you've got a cat, listen. My couch used to be covered in fur. Now a reusable pet hair roller clears it in about a minute. Link's below if you want one."
- Result: a 9.5-second ad, back in 1 minute 9 seconds, with the line said word for word
- Bill: one started minute, 200 credits at 720p
Talking actor · a 10-second script about a reusable pet hair roller, made through the Novoads connector · 200 credits at 720p · rendered 2026-10-09
On Hedra's per-second meter, 9.5 seconds of Fabric at 720p is at most 300 credits even if Hedra rounds up to whole seconds, so $3 or less on every plan. A 10-second ad belongs to Hedra. The started minute earns its keep when the script runs long, because the same 200 credits cover a full 60 seconds. If your ads run close to a minute, compare every Novoads plan on our pricing page.
Price the seconds you publish, not the plan you buy
Hedra and Novoads can run the same VEED engine and still send different bills, because one meters the second and the other the started minute. For 10- to 30-second talking clips, Hedra's per-second credits cost less, and its own Character 3 costs less again. For ads that run close to a minute, and for short Seedance 2.0 Mini clips, the Novoads numbers above come out lower. Hedra's pricing page has changed twice since September, so check the date on any figure, ours included, before you budget.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Hedra AI free or paid?
Paid, for anything you would run as an ad. On October 21, 2026, Hedra's pricing page showed four Studio plans from $20 to $100 a month in US dollars, each listing commercial use, plus a custom Enterprise tier and an API billed from a prepaid dollar balance. As late as September 29, 2026, the page's title read 'Free Plan, No Credit Card'; by October 21 it read 'API, Infrastructure, and Studio'. Hedra's FAQ says a cancelled account keeps only 'limited watermarked generations'. What a new account gets without paying was not visible to us signed out.
Is Hedra any good?
We have not used Hedra hands-on, so this answer rests on its own pages and our arithmetic. Hedra describes Character 3 as 'Perfect for talking and singing video with speaker selection up to 10 minutes long', and its model page flags 'overly dramatic or unnatural hand gestures' as a quirk to restrain in the prompt. On price it is strong for short clips: a 30-second Character 3 ad at 720p cost $1.09 to $2.10 across its plans on October 21, 2026.
What are some free alternatives to Hedra?
Start with Hedra's own no-cost and no-commitment options before you switch. Its pricing FAQ says a cancelled account keeps 'limited watermarked generations', its API wallet has 'No subscription, no seats, no minimum', so you pay only for the seconds you render, from 2.5 cents a second for Character 3 at 540p, and its API rate list marks voice cloning as free. We did not price other vendors' free tiers for this page.
What is Hedra AI good for?
Talking characters made from a still image and a voice track. Hedra's talking-avatar page pitches avatars 'For ads, training, localization, and the presenter inside your own product' and says 'ten hooks for TikTok, Reels and YouTube cost ten renders rather than ten shoots'. Its Character 3 runs 'to ten minutes in a single generation', and the same credits also buy third-party models such as VEED Fabric 1.0, Veo 3.1 and Seedance 2.0 Mini.
Key Takeaways
- Hedra's Studio plans cost $20 (Basic, 2,000 credits), $50 (Pro, 7,200), $100 (Ultra, 18,000) and $75 (Teams, 14,400) a month in US dollars, all billed monthly, on its pricing page on October 21, 2026; Enterprise is custom.
- Hedra spends credits by the second, so the model sets the price: Character 3 takes 7 credits a second at 720p and VEED Fabric 1.0 takes 30.
- A 30-second Character 3 ad at 720p costs $1.09 to $2.10 across Hedra's plans and $1.50 on its API wallet; the same ad on VEED Fabric 1.0 costs $4.69 to $9.00.
- The Novoads talking actor runs on VEED Fabric 1.0 but bills a started minute, 200 credits at 720p: dearer than Hedra at 30 seconds ($9.80 on Plus) and flat to 60 seconds, where Hedra's Fabric costs $9.38 to $18.00.
- On a 15-second Seedance 2.0 Mini clip at 720p, Novoads costs $0.45 to $1.13 by plan against $1.17 to $2.25 inside Hedra.
