OpenArt AI Pricing in 2026: $14 Monthly, but Ads Need Plus

OpenArt's paid plans start at $14 a month billed monthly, but its terms only let you use the output commercially, ads included, from Plus up. Plus is $34 a month billed monthly.

Only three of OpenArt's four plans let you run ads

OpenArt sells four paid plans for individuals, and under its terms, the cheapest is the only one whose output you can't put in an ad. That's Starter, at $14 a month billed monthly or $13 a month billed yearly. It comes with 4,000 credits a month. If you make ads, the plan to price is Plus, at $34 a month billed monthly or $27 a month billed yearly, because OpenArt's terms allow commercial use from Plus up. As for a free plan, OpenArt's own blog says there isn't one, just 40 trial credits to use within 7 days.

We haven't used OpenArt ourselves and don't have an account there. The figures for OpenArt come from its pricing page, help center and terms, which we read from Spain on October 27, 2026, without signing in. Our own figures come from our price list and a clip we rendered in September.

OpenArt's four plans and what they cost

Monthly and yearly prices

Prices as of October 27, 2026, in US dollars. OpenArt prices each plan per seat, and an individual plan has one seat.

PlanBilled monthlyBilled yearly, per monthA year, billed yearly (our math)Credits a month
Starter$14$13$1564,000
Plus$34$27$32412,000
Pro$56$44$52824,000
Wonder$240$175$2,100106,000

The pricing page opens on yearly billing, so the big number on each card is the yearly price per month, with the monthly price struck through beside it. The page never gives the yearly price as one charge for the year, only as that per-month figure. The fourth column is our own math, twelve times that figure. We didn't go as far as checkout, so what OpenArt actually charges for a year may differ a little from our number.

By the same math, paying yearly on Plus saves you $84 over twelve monthly payments. On Starter, you save only $12. OpenArt's pricing FAQ says monthly and yearly plans have the same features and differ only in price. Its help center adds that subscriptions are sold in USD and a few other currencies, and that the checkout page shows which ones.

What each plan adds

  • Starter comes with Director, OpenArt MCP, about 13 consistent characters, 8 parallel generations and watermark-free output. Its card doesn't list commercial use rights or add-on credits.
  • Plus adds commercial use rights, add-on credits, about 40 consistent characters and 16 parallel generations.
  • Pro, marked Most Popular, goes up to 32 parallel generations and about 80 consistent characters.
  • Wonder, marked Best Value, has the only card that lists priority support and Unlimited Creation. OpenArt's help center says Pro gets unlimited generation too, on select models only.

OpenArt also sells Team and Business plans on a separate tab of the same page. We've left those out and stuck to the plans one person buys.

Is OpenArt AI free? Only for a 7-day trial

The 40 trial credits

In a blog post dated September 18, 2026, OpenArt says it doesn't have a free usage plan. Instead, a new account gets 40 trial credits to use within 7 days, and the same post says you don't need a credit card to start. OpenArt's FAQ says those credits work on "any premium features and advanced models." The plan comparison on the pricing page calls them a one-time grant, and OpenArt adds 50 more trial credits if you join its Discord.

How far do they go? OpenArt's help center puts an image at 5 to 50 credits. A video starts at 100. That means 40 trial credits buy at most eight images, and no video at all.

What happens to what you make on the trial

  • Section 4.5 of the terms says output made on a free plan may carry a visible OpenArt watermark, and the help center says free users can't remove it. Every paid card, Starter included, lists watermark-free output.
  • If you never subscribe, the help center says OpenArt keeps your creations for 7 days and then deletes them.
  • After a paid plan ends, you get 14 days to download your files before they're deleted.

So if you test OpenArt on the trial, download anything you want to keep within the week. If you're comparing trials across tools, we asked the same question in Is Higgsfield AI free?

Which OpenArt plans let you use the output in ads

What OpenArt's terms say

OpenArt's terms of service were last updated July 30, 2026, though the bottom of the page says July 20. They split use into two kinds. Every plan may use its output for non-commercial purposes, and plans "at, and above, the 'Plus' level" may also use it commercially. A paid ad is commercial use, so in our reading, Starter output can't go into one.

Where OpenArt's pages agree, and where they don't

Two more OpenArt sources put commercial use at Plus and up.

  • The help center says "Commercial use is available on the Plus plan and above."
  • On the pricing page, Plus, Pro and Wonder list commercial use rights, and Starter doesn't.

Two others answer the question without naming a plan.

  • A post on OpenArt's blog dated September 18, 2026, says you can use what you make "for commercial work, including client campaigns, paid ads, and products you sell."
  • OpenArt's FAQ page, which has no date and still talks about Stable Diffusion, says "You can use any image you created for commercial purposes."

We'd go by the terms. They're the contract you accept, and the cards and the help center match them.

Watermark-free output on Starter

Don't take the watermark-free line as permission to use the output in ads. Every paid card lists watermark-free output, Starter included, but only Plus and up list commercial use rights. Under the terms, a clean Starter file is still for non-commercial use.

Commercial use on Novoads

Our FAQ says every video generated with Novoads is fully licensed for commercial use, with no limit on it. Our plans start with Starter, at $15 a month for 200 credits, billed from the first month.

What OpenArt credits buy

What an image and a video cost in credits

OpenArt doesn't list a price per model on any page we could read without an account. Its help center offers a rough guide instead. An image costs 5 to 50 credits, depending on the model and resolution. A video costs 100 to 800 credits or more, depending on the model, the length and the resolution. Before each generation, the exact cost appears next to the Generate button.

The pricing cards give a second estimate. The Starter card says its credits buy up to about 50 videos, not counting Director, or about 4,000 images. By our math, that's about 80 credits a video and 1 credit an image. The video figure is below the help center's own floor of 100 credits a video, so we'd treat the card figures as a best case.

You need an account to see per-model prices

Without an account, we couldn't see what any single model costs, and the Seedance 2.5 generation page we opened showed no credit number. So every OpenArt per-video figure in this post is our own conversion of OpenArt's ranges and card estimates, and none of them is a price OpenArt quotes.

How long a standard clip runs

OpenArt's help center says standard video generations run 5 to 15 seconds, depending on the model. OpenArt's model index describes 30-second clips on some models, Seedance 2.5 and Kling 4.0 among them. For longer pieces, the help center points you to One Click Story, which joins scenes into videos of up to 3 minutes.

How many videos a month each plan covers

We divided each plan's monthly credits by both ends of the help center's range, 800 credits a video and 100. On every plan, the card's own estimate is higher than the top of our range.

  • Starter, 5 to 40 videos a month (the card says up to about 50)
  • Plus, 15 to 120 videos a month (the card says up to about 150)
  • Pro, 30 to 240 videos a month (the card says up to about 300)
  • Wonder, 132 to 1,060 videos a month (the card says up to about 1,300)

And at more than 800 credits a video, you'd get fewer still.

What a credit costs on each plan

We divided each plan's price by its credits. By our math, a video in OpenArt's 100 to 800 credit range costs this much on each plan, billed monthly.

  • Starter, $0.35 to $2.80 a video
  • Plus, $0.28 to $2.27 a video
  • Pro, $0.23 to $1.87 a video
  • Wonder, $0.23 to $1.81 a video

Billed yearly, Plus comes to $0.23 to $1.80 a video. On Plus billed monthly, an image runs about 1 to 14 cents. Per credit, Starter is the most expensive of the four.

OpenArt's rules on refills, add-ons, canceling and refunds

Monthly credits reset on your billing date

Monthly plan credits don't carry over. They refill on your billing anchor date, the day of the month you subscribed, rather than on the 1st of each month. When a plan expires, you lose your paid credits. The terms also say the number of credits a model costs may change during your subscription.

The Extra Credit add-on starts at Plus

The top-up on the pricing page is the Extra Credit add-on, at $15 a month for 5,000 credits, and the page tells you to subscribe to Plus to unlock it.

  • OpenArt's help center calls it a recurring monthly charge.
  • Its unused credits roll over to the next month, which plan credits don't.
  • OpenArt spends add-on credits before your plan credits.
  • You can't buy extra credits without an active subscription, and canceling a Plus, Pro or Wonder plan cancels its add-ons too.

At 30 cents per 100 credits, the add-on costs a little more per credit than Plus's own credits do.

Upgrading, canceling and refunds

  • When you upgrade, you get the new plan's features and credits right away, and OpenArt bills you the prorated difference between the two plans.
  • A downgrade or a cancellation takes effect at the next billing cycle, and you lose your paid credits when the current cycle ends.
  • You can cancel any time, and your plan stays active to the end of the period you've paid for. To avoid the next charge, OpenArt asks you to cancel at least five days before the renewal date.
  • The terms say all purchases are non-refundable except where the law requires a refund, and there's no prorated refund for the current billing period.
  • The help center describes one case where OpenArt does give a refund. If you subscribed to yearly billing by mistake, OpenArt moves you to monthly and refunds the unused part of the year, minus a minimum 10% processing fee.
  • When a generation fails, the help center says the credits are refunded automatically in most cases. They go back to your balance as credits.

OpenArt's promotions on October 27, 2026

OpenArt had four time-limited offers on its pages that day. None of them is a plan's standing price.

  • A Halloween treat of "up to 30% off plans or free AI generations," which ends November 1. We couldn't see its terms without an account.
  • 50% off Kling 4.0 generations on Pro and Wonder, until November 20 at 11:59 PM Pacific time.
  • Unlimited FLUX 3 videos at 720p on Wonder, until October 31.
  • 10% off generations made through OpenArt MCP for Plus, Pro and Wonder members, during the 7 days after you connect it. OpenArt calls it a limited-time, one-time offer and gives no end date.

Our roundup of AI video MCP servers covers OpenArt's MCP server alongside the others.

One 5-second ad clip, priced on Novoads and on OpenArt

The clip we rendered

We rendered this clip in Novoads on September 30, 2026, through our REST API. It's Kling v3 Pro at 1080p, 5 seconds long and vertical, from a one-line prompt with no reference image. A young woman in a sunlit kitchen holds a small serum bottle to the camera and says "this changed my mornings," word for word from the prompt. It cost 10 credits. It also took 29 minutes 44 seconds from the request to the finished file, so it wasn't a quick render.

What it costs on Novoads

Kling v3 Pro costs 2 credits a second in Novoads, so the clip is 10 credits on any plan. By our math, those same 10 credits come to three different prices in dollars, depending on the plan and how you're billed.

  • On Starter ($15 for 200 credits), 75 cents
  • On Plus ($49 for 1,000 credits), 49 cents
  • On Plus billed yearly ($39 a month), 39 cents

What OpenArt's own numbers say

OpenArt's model index lists Kling 3.0, the model behind our Kling v3 Pro. But it doesn't say which mode OpenArt runs, and without an account we couldn't see a credit price for it. So we can't price this exact clip on OpenArt, but we can set OpenArt's own range beside it.

On Plus billed monthly, OpenArt's guide works out to about 28 cents to $2.27 a video. The cards' estimate of 80 credits a video comes to about 23 cents. So by OpenArt's own numbers, a video at the bottom of the range costs less there than our clip does on Plus, about 28 cents against 49. One at the top costs more than four times as much. We can't tell where a 5-second Kling clip at 1080p lands in that range, because we couldn't see OpenArt's number for it.

The comparison that holds up is the price of the cheapest plan whose terms let you run the result as an ad. On OpenArt, that's Plus at $34 a month billed monthly. On Novoads, it's Starter at $15 a month.

Which OpenArt plan to buy if you make ads

If your output is going into ads, start your OpenArt math at Plus, which is $34 a month billed monthly or $27 billed yearly, because Starter isn't licensed for commercial use. Before you pay for a year, we'd check three things.

  • The credit cost next to the Generate button on your first few clips, since OpenArt's guide runs from 100 to 800 credits or more for a single video.
  • Your renewal date, so you can cancel five days ahead if the plan isn't working for you.
  • The end date of any promotion you're counting on, since two of the four end by November 1.

We look at the product itself in our OpenArt review. If you're weighing other AI image and video tools, we've also written up Krea's pricing and Higgsfield's, plus a list of Pollo AI alternatives.

And if you'd rather start on a plan that lets you run ads from the first month, Novoads' Starter is $15 a month.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does OpenArt AI cost?

On October 27, 2026, OpenArt's pricing page listed four plans for individuals, priced per seat in US dollars. Starter is $14 a month billed monthly, or $13 a month billed yearly. Plus is $34 a month and Pro is $56, both billed monthly. Wonder, the top plan, is $240 a month. OpenArt labels the yearly prices 10 to 27 percent off, depending on the plan.

Is OpenArt AI free?

Only as a trial. In its own blog post dated September 18, 2026, OpenArt says it has no free usage plan. New accounts get 40 trial credits to use within 7 days, and you don't need a credit card to start. Output made on a free plan may carry a visible OpenArt watermark, and if you never subscribe, OpenArt deletes your creations after 7 days.

Which OpenArt plan allows commercial use?

Plus and above. OpenArt's terms, last updated July 30, 2026, allow non-commercial use on every plan and commercial use from the Plus level up. The help center and the pricing cards say the same, so Starter output isn't licensed for ads. Plus is $34 a month billed monthly, or $27 a month billed yearly. A blog post dated September 18, 2026, and OpenArt's FAQ page say commercial use is fine but don't name a plan. The terms are the contract you accept, though.

Do OpenArt credits roll over?

Monthly plan credits don't. They reset on your billing anchor date, the day of the month you subscribed, and you lose your paid credits when a plan ends. Credits from the Extra Credit add-on do roll over, and OpenArt spends them before your plan credits. The add-on costs $15 a month for 5,000 credits, and you need Plus or higher to buy it.

Key Takeaways

  • Starter, OpenArt's cheapest plan, is $14 a month billed monthly or $13 a month billed yearly. It comes with 4,000 credits a month.
  • OpenArt's terms only allow commercial use from Plus up, so the cheapest plan you can run ads from is Plus, at $34 a month billed monthly.
  • OpenArt's own blog says it has no free plan. New accounts get 40 trial credits to use within 7 days, and what you make with them may carry a watermark.
  • OpenArt's help center puts a video at 100 to 800 credits or more. On Plus billed monthly, that's about 28 cents to $2.27 a video, by our math.
  • Monthly credits don't roll over, the Extra Credit add-on is only for Plus and up, and OpenArt asks you to cancel at least five days before your renewal date.
