Is Krea AI Free? 100 Units a Day With No Commercial License
Krea's Free plan refills 100 compute units a day without a card, but it has no commercial license and almost no video. An image or clip you'll run as an ad needs a paid plan.

100 units a day is enough to test Krea, but ads need a paid plan
Yes, Krea AI has a $0 plan. It refills 100 compute units every day, and Krea doesn't ask for a card. That's plenty for trying the app, but two things stand between the Free plan and an ad you can run. Free doesn't include Krea's commercial license, and the only video model with a daily count on it is LTX-2 19B, good for about two short clips a day. So an image or clip you plan to put in front of customers needs a paid plan, and a Seedance 2.5 clip needs Pro.
We haven't used Krea ourselves, and we don't have an account there. Krea's side of this post comes from its pricing page, model pages, help docs, terms and blog, plus its Trustpilot page. We read all of them on October 27, 2026, from Spain and without signing in. The Novoads side comes from our own price list and a Seedance 2.5 clip we rendered in our account in September.
What 100 daily units buy on Krea's Free plan
Krea meters its models in compute units, and its pricing page shows how many outputs of each model a plan's units cover. Counts as of October 27, 2026.
Images a day, by model
Krea's comparison table gives the Free plan these daily counts.
- About 5 images from Krea 3, Krea's latest in-house image model
- 5 from Krea 2 Large and 11 from Krea 2 Medium
- About 18 from Krea 1 and about 30 from Flux.1 Dev
- 50 from Krea 2 Turbo
- 900 from Realtime, which generates images as you type or draw
- 33 edits and 4 enhancer runs
The rows for Nano Banana, the GPT Image models and Seedream are empty in the Free column, and Krea lists all image models as a Basic feature. On Free you can run one image job at a time, and on Basic you can run four. If Nano Banana is the model you want, our Nano Banana post covers the Gemini app route. Most of the counts above are for Krea's own models, and we've also written about how Krea 2's style reference keeps one brand look across product ads.
One video model, about two clips a day
There's very little video on Free. The only video row with anything in the Free column is LTX-2 19B, counted at 5 seconds and 512p. Krea's table gives it about two clips a day. Every Seedance, Kling and Veo row is blank in that column, and Krea's guide to Seedance 2.5, dated October 26, 2026, says plainly that "it isn't included in the free or basic plans." Krea's own blog also calls the free tier images-only, so don't plan video work around that one row.
Upscaling and Krea Agent on Free
On Free, you can upscale to 2K with Krea's basic upscalers. On paid plans, Krea lists upscalers that reach 22K, Topaz Standard among them.
You can also use Krea Agent on Free. You give it one brief, and it plans, generates and iterates across models. The images and clips it makes cost the same number of units as they would if you made them by hand. On Free, Krea charges you 5% of the token price for the chat model that plans the work. Krea's docs also describe a launch-week Agent allowance of 300 credits for Free accounts. It ended on September 15, 2026, and was separate from the daily units.

Can you run a free Krea image as an ad?
The commercial license starts at Basic
Krea's pricing FAQ says Basic, Pro, Max, Business and Enterprise plans "include a commercial license that allows you to use all generated content for commercial purposes without restrictions." Free isn't one of them. The same answer mentions advertising by name, saying the license covers "images, videos, and other AI-generated assets for marketing, advertising, products, and client work." And a Krea post on free image generators, updated October 23, 2026, says "Krea's commercial license comes with paid plans, not the free tier."
Krea's model pages tie video rights to paying, too. Its Kling page says "Paid plans include full commercial rights," and on its Veo 3.1 page, Krea allows commercial use "as long as you have purchased a Krea subscription." Krea's terms, last updated May 20, 2024, add that your rights to use what you make "may be dependent on specific purchases or plans you have to the Services."
For ad work, we read all of this as one simple rule. Test ideas on Free, then pay for Basic before a Krea image or clip goes into an ad, and pay for Pro if the clip has to be Seedance 2.5 or Veo 3.1.
What Krea says about watermarks
Krea's guide to making ads, dated August 31, 2026, says its free option gives you "100 compute units every day, no watermark, no card." The pricing page, help docs and terms we read don't mention watermarks at all, so that claim rests on the blog post alone. We looked into the same question for Higgsfield's $0 plan.
The same guide also says the free plan covers only Krea 2 images and that the commercial license comes with Pro. The pricing page we read lists Krea 3 on Free and puts the license on Basic and up, so we've gone with the pricing page.
Krea's paid plans and what each one gets you
Prices as of October 27, 2026, in US dollars, as Krea's pricing page showed them to a signed-out visitor.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Yearly promotion, per month | Compute units | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 100 a day | Krea 3 and one video model |
| Basic | $9 | $5.25 | 5,000 a month | Commercial license, selected video models |
| Pro | $35 | $21 | 20,000 a month | Every video model, Seedance 2.5 included |
| Max | $105 | $63 | 60,000 a month | Relaxed image generations past your units |
| Business | $200 | $160 | 80,000 a month | Up to 50 seats, rollover |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom terms, indemnity |
Max and Business each have a slider, and the table shows the setting each one opens on. Max runs from 40,000 to 100,000 units a month. Business runs from 20,000 units to 1.5 million.
What each paid plan adds
- Basic is the cheapest plan with the commercial license. It gives you all image models and selected video models (including Seedance 2.0 with its Fast and Mini versions, and Kling 2.5), plus paid upscalers up to 22K.
- Pro gets you every video model, Kling included. It's the first plan where you can run Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1.
- Max lets you keep using Krea's in-house image models in a relaxed mode after your units run out, and it raises the LoRA training limit to 2,000 images.
- Business covers up to 50 seats for one flat price, and its unused units roll over to the next billing period.
- Enterprise is priced on request. It's the plan Krea names for protection against intellectual property claims on generated content.
The yearly prices are a promotion
When we read it, Krea's pricing page opened on yearly billing with a "40% off" badge, so the first prices you see on the cards are the discounted ones. Those yearly prices come from a coupon Krea applies, and its terms say a subscription renews "at the then-current non-promotional rate." So treat the yearly price as a promotion we saw on October 27, 2026, and don't count on it for a second year. The Basic card shows its yearly price rounded to $5 a month. What you're actually charged is $63 a year, or $5.25 a month.
Krea's other pages give different starting prices. A help article says $10 a month, and a summary Krea publishes for AI assistants says $7. We go by the pricing page, since that's where you actually buy. If you're weighing Krea against OpenArt, we've priced OpenArt's plans too.
What one Krea clip costs in units and dollars
Krea's pricing page doesn't list a price per clip. But its comparison table does say how many clips of each model a plan's units cover at named settings, so dividing a plan's price by that count gives you a rough cost per clip. Every cost in this section is our own math on Krea's rounded counts. Krea's docs also say usage shifts with "prompt complexity, quality settings, and model type," and that generations cost less on higher plans.
Prices and counts as of October 27, 2026, billed monthly.
| Clip | Plan | Clips per month | Units per clip | Cost per clip |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kling 2.5, 5 s | Basic | ~19 | ~263 | ~$0.47 |
| Kling 3.0, 3 s, standard, no audio | Basic | ~26 | ~192 | ~$0.35 |
| Seedance 2.5, 5 s, 720p | Pro | ~23 | ~870 | ~$1.52 |
| Veo 3.1, 4 s, 720p, no audio | Pro | ~33 | ~606 | ~$1.06 |
Kling on Basic
Basic is the cheapest Krea plan that lets you make a video you're licensed to run as an ad. On Basic, Krea's table counts about 19 Kling 2.5 clips a month, at 5 seconds each. That's about 263 units a clip. At $9 a month, each clip comes to about 47 cents. For Kling 3.0, the table uses 3-second clips in standard mode with audio off, so its lower cost per clip gets you a shorter clip. Kling also sells plans of its own, which we priced in our Kling pricing post.
Seedance 2.5 on Pro
Every Seedance 2.5 figure in this post is for the clip in Krea's table, which is 5 seconds at 720p with no video reference. Pro's units cover about 23 of them, so each one takes about 870 units. At $35 a month, that's about $1.52 a clip. On the yearly promotion, it's about 91 cents. Krea's own guide to Seedance 2.5, dated October 26, 2026, puts the same clip at about 856 units, close to our number.
Pro's card advertises about 65 Seedance 2.5 videos a month but doesn't say at what settings. For this clip, go by the table's count when you budget.
Veo 3.1 on Pro
Veo 3.1 needs Pro too, and Krea's table counts it at 4 seconds and 720p with audio off. That works out to about 606 units, or about $1.06 a clip.
The fine print on Krea's units and plans
Unused units reset on Basic, Pro and Max
Krea's FAQ says Basic, Pro and Max "allocate compute units monthly and they do not roll over." On Business and Enterprise, unused units carry into the next billing period. Krea's docs add that on annual Business and Enterprise plans, units roll over for up to 12 months. The docs also say every user gets a small number of free units each day, and on a paid plan we'd expect those to trim the real cost per clip a little.
Top-up packs last 90 days
If a month's units run out, you can buy one-time packs of 2,000 to 50,000 units. Krea's docs say packs are for paid plans, must be used within 90 days and don't refresh. We couldn't see their prices while signed out, because each pack showed "Sign in required" instead of a price.
Refunds, cancelling and switching plans
- Krea offers a refund in the cancellation flow only if your workspace used under 650 compute units and fewer than 20 generations that month.
- Refunds usually take 5 to 10 business days to show up, according to Krea's billing docs.
- If you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. Krea's terms say you won't get a prorated refund for the rest of it.
- Upgrades and downgrades take effect right away and are prorated. If you switch from yearly to monthly billing, the switch takes effect when the yearly term ends.
- Paid plans renew automatically by default, and Krea's help docs count moving down to Free as cancelling.
One Seedance 2.5 ad clip, priced on Krea and on Novoads
The same 5-second clip on both
We priced the Seedance 2.5 clip from earlier on both tools. In Novoads, that clip costs 35 credits.
Prices as of October 27, 2026, billed monthly.
| Krea Pro | Novoads Starter | Novoads Plus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price per month | $35 | $15 | $49 |
| Included each month | 20,000 units | 200 credits | 1,000 credits |
| One 5 s clip at 720p | ~870 units | 35 credits | 35 credits |
| Cost per clip | ~$1.52 | ~$2.63 | ~$1.72 |
| Clips the plan covers | ~23 | 5 | 28 |
We got the last two rows by simple division.
- On Krea Pro, $35 divided by about 23 clips is about $1.52 a clip.
- On Novoads Starter, $15 buys 200 credits. A 35-credit clip comes to about $2.63, and five of them fit in a month's credits.
- On Novoads Plus, $49 buys 1,000 credits. A 35-credit clip comes to about $1.72, and 28 of them fit in a month's credits.
So Krea is cheaper per clip here. Billed monthly, the clip costs about $1.52 on Krea Pro and about $1.72 on Novoads Plus. On yearly billing, Krea's promotion brings its figure down to about 91 cents, and Plus comes to about $1.37.
Where Novoads comes out ahead
We come out ahead on the price of getting the model at all. On Krea, Seedance 2.5 needs Pro at $35 a month. We sell it from Starter at $15, and Starter's credits cover five of these clips. Seedance 2.5, Kling v3 Pro and Google Veo 3.1 are on every Novoads plan.
The other difference is the job each tool is built for. Krea's guide to making ads, dated August 31, 2026, says "Krea is not an ad platform. There are no avatar actors with lip-synced scripts, no ad-account integration, no auto-generated copy variants, and no performance scoring," and that "you export the creative and run it yourself." Novoads starts from the ad instead. You upload a product photo or write a script, pick an AI actor, and get a video with voice, lip-sync and captions in vertical, square or horizontal format, ready to download for any ad platform.
Krea also lets you try it for $0 every day. We don't match that, because Novoads is paid from the first month. You can see every plan on our pricing page.
The strip below shows a Seedance 2.5 clip we rendered in Novoads on September 21, 2026, from a one-line prompt. We ran it at 1080p, which costs 60 credits. The 720p clip we priced above costs 35.
Seedance 2.5 in Novoads · prompt: a woman in a bright kitchen holds a small glass serum bottle toward the camera and smiles · 5 seconds, 1080p, 9:16 · 60 credits · rendered 2026-09-21

Which one fits the job
As we read the figures above, Krea is the better fit in four cases.
- You want a $0 daily allowance to test ideas before you pay anything.
- You want a wide choice of image models, with Flux, Nano Banana and Seedream alongside Krea's own on the paid plans.
- You'll make dozens of Seedance 2.5 clips a month on Pro or higher, where Krea's cost per clip is lower.
- You sketch or type and want the image to update in real time.
Novoads is the better fit in three.
- The ad needs an AI actor reading your script, with voice, lip-sync and captions in one place.
- You want Seedance 2.5 without paying for a plan that costs $35 a month.
- You make a few ad clips a month, which Starter's credits cover.
If you're comparing more AI video apps, our list of Pollo AI alternatives covers several.
What Krea's users say on Trustpilot
We read Krea's Trustpilot page on October 27, 2026. It showed a TrustScore of 3.6 from 177 reviews. Half of the reviews give five stars, and a third give one. Most are recent, with 128 in the last 12 months. The page also says Krea hasn't replied to negative reviews. One invited four-star review, dated June 14, 2026, reads "great website with a lot of product, for me it's to much expensive."
If you're picking a Krea plan for ads, start with Basic at $9 a month, the cheapest plan with a commercial license. Move up to Pro at $35 when the clip has to be Seedance 2.5 or Veo 3.1.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Krea AI free?
Yes, Krea has a Free plan at $0 a month. Its pricing page, which we read on October 27, 2026, lists 100 compute units that refill every day, and you don't need a credit card. The plan doesn't include the commercial license, though, and its only video option is a small daily allowance on LTX-2 19B. So an image or clip you'll run as an ad needs a paid plan, starting with Basic at $9 a month.
Can I use Krea's free images in ads?
Not under Krea's commercial license. Krea's pricing FAQ, which we read on October 27, 2026, says Basic, Pro, Max, Business and Enterprise include a commercial license that covers marketing and advertising. Free isn't on that list. A Krea blog post updated October 23, 2026, also says the license comes with paid plans only.
How much does Krea AI cost per month?
On Krea's pricing page, which we read on October 27, 2026, Basic costs $9 a month, billed monthly. Pro costs $35 and is the first plan with every video model, Seedance 2.5 included. Max is $105, Business is $200, and Enterprise is priced on request. With yearly billing, the page showed 40% off the individual plans. That's a promotion, and Krea's terms say subscriptions renew at the non-promotional rate.
Can you make videos on Krea's free plan?
Only a little. On Krea's pricing page, which we read on October 27, 2026, LTX-2 19B is the only video model with a daily count on Free. Krea's table gives it about two short clips a day at 512p. Seedance, Kling and Veo need a paid plan, and Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1 need Pro or higher.
Key Takeaways
- Krea's Free plan costs $0, needs no card and refills 100 compute units a day. Krea's own table puts that at about 5 Krea 3 images or 50 Krea 2 Turbo images a day.
- Free doesn't include Krea's commercial license. The license starts on Basic at $9 a month, and Krea says it covers advertising.
- The only video model with a daily count on Free is LTX-2 19B, good for about two short clips a day. For Seedance 2.5 or Veo 3.1, you need Pro at $35 a month.
- Krea's table counts Seedance 2.5 at 5 seconds and 720p. Dividing its rounded counts, we get about $1.52 a clip on Pro, billed monthly. Krea's yearly prices are a promotion, and its terms say plans renew at the non-promotional rate.
- The same clip costs about $2.63 on Novoads Starter and $1.72 on Plus, so Krea is cheaper per clip. Novoads offers Seedance 2.5 from Starter at $15 a month and is built around actors, scripts and ad formats.
