Krea AI Alternatives for Ads: 5-Second Clip Costs and Licenses

Krea's commercial license starts on its $9 Basic plan, but its Seedance 2.5 clips need Pro at $35 a month. We priced one 5-second clip on Higgsfield, Kling, Runway and Novoads, and noted which entry plans allow ads on those four and OpenArt.

When Krea's license and Seedance 2.5 are on different plans

Krea's pricing page says every plan from Basic up includes a commercial license, and that the license covers advertising. Seedance 2.5 isn't on Basic, though. In Krea's own comparison table, it starts on Pro, at $35 a month.

So if you're leaving Krea, or weighing it against another tool, two questions settle the move. What does one 5-second clip cost on each tool's entry plan? And does that plan let you run the clip as an ad?

For a quick pick, start from the ad you make.

  • If Seedance 2.5 is your model and you can pay for a year, stay on Krea Pro. Billed yearly, it's cheaper per clip than any Novoads plan.
  • If you want Kling's own models on the smallest monthly bill, take Kling's Standard plan.
  • If you make short Kling 3.0 clips and want ads allowed from the first paid plan, look at Higgsfield's Starter.
  • If the ad is a cinematic short you'll test before it runs, go to Runway, whose Standard plan includes its Runway Ads tool.
  • If you want many models in one studio, use OpenArt, and budget for Plus, since its Starter plan doesn't include commercial use.
  • If you want Seedance 2.5 without paying for a $35 plan, or an AI actor reading your script to camera, try Novoads, which starts at $15 a month.

We haven't used Krea or the other four tools ourselves, and we don't have an account with any of them. Every rival figure here comes from the vendor's own pricing pages and terms, read on October 29, 2026, from a connection in Spain. The Novoads side comes from our own price list and one of our own renders.

Krea and five alternatives, priced per clip

Prices as of October 29, 2026. Every clip in this table is five seconds long, and each per-clip figure is our arithmetic, the plan's monthly price divided by the number of clips its credits buy, going by the vendor's own count. Higgsfield showed euros to our connection in Spain, and we haven't converted them.

Krea and Higgsfield give rounded counts (Krea says about 19 Kling 2.5 clips on Basic, and Higgsfield about 7 credits for Kling 3.0), so their per-clip figures are approximate. The settings differ from row to row as well. Kling's clip has no native audio, while our Kling v3 Pro clip has audio on by default, and Krea prices Kling 2.5, an older version than the Kling 3.0 the others list. Krea's table doesn't say whether its Seedance 2.5 count has audio on.

OpenArt's pricing page counts videos per plan but doesn't give a clip length or the credits a clip takes, so it has no per-clip figure here.

Billed yearly, three of these entry prices drop.

  • Krea Basic falls to $5.25 a month, and Krea Pro to $21.
  • Runway Standard falls to $12 a month.
  • OpenArt Starter falls to $13 a month.

Higgsfield's Starter costs the same either way, and Novoads Starter is billed monthly only. Krea showed its yearly prices as 40% off that day, and we'd treat that discount as a promotion that can end. On those yearly prices, Krea's Kling 2.5 clip comes to about 28 cents and its Seedance 2.5 clip to about 91 cents. Runway's Gen-4.5 clip comes to about $1.15.

What Krea gives an ad maker, and where it stops

Krea's plans, counted in compute units

Krea prices its plans in compute units, and each generation spends some of them.

  • Free costs $0 and refills 100 units a day.
  • Basic costs $9 a month for 5,000 units.
  • Pro costs $35 a month for 20,000 units.
  • Max costs $105 a month for 60,000 units.
  • Business costs $200 a month for 80,000 units shared by a team, and Enterprise has custom pricing.

Units on Basic, Pro and Max reset every month and don't carry over, and our own plan credits reset at each renewal too. Business and Enterprise roll unused units into the next billing period. Our Krea pricing breakdown covers the yearly prices, the top-up packs and the Free plan in full.

Seedance 2.5 starts on Pro

Krea's comparison table counts how many clips of each model a plan's units buy, with the settings beside each model, and three of its rows cover short ad clips.

  • Basic buys about 19 Kling 2.5 clips a month at five seconds.
  • Basic buys about 14 Kling 4.0 clips at three seconds and 720p.
  • Pro buys about 23 Seedance 2.5 clips at five seconds and 720p, without a video reference, and Basic buys none.

Dividing a plan's units by its count gives the size of one clip. A Kling 2.5 clip takes about 263 units, and a Seedance 2.5 clip about 870, which is where the table's per-clip prices for Krea come from. Our Seedance pricing breakdown compares the same clip on the APIs and other apps, and our Kaiber pricing post prices it on Kaiber's plans.

Max doesn't follow that math. In every row, the table counts twice Pro's clips on Max, about 46 for Seedance 2.5, though Max has three times Pro's units. At 870 units a clip, Max's units would cover about 69, but we use the table's counts.

The license starts on Basic

Krea's FAQ asks whether its plans include a commercial license, and the answer names them. "Yes, Basic, Pro, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans include a commercial license that allows you to use all generated content for commercial purposes without restrictions." The next line says that covers "images, videos, and other AI-generated assets for marketing, advertising, products, and client work." Krea's comparison table leaves the license off the Free plan, and Krea's own ads guide says video models and the commercial license require a paid plan.

The license isn't the whole legal picture, though. The same comparison table gives Business Terms of Service only to Business and Enterprise, and indemnification (Krea's protection against intellectual property claims on what you generate) only to Enterprise. Krea's Terms of Use, last updated May 20, 2024, are also narrower than the FAQ. They say Krea "may allow you to commercialize certain Content generated from the Services" and that Krea "reserves the right to modify the terms of commercial use" at any time.

Our reading is that the clips from any paid Krea plan can run as ads, and that the legal cover around them grows with the tier. If you make ads for clients, we'd read those terms before you rely on Basic.

What Krea's own ads guide says it doesn't do

Krea's guide to making AI ads and UGC ads, dated August 31, 2026, is frank about what Krea doesn't do. "Krea is not an ad platform," it says. It continues, "There are no avatar actors with lip-synced scripts, no ad-account integration, no auto-generated copy variants, and no performance scoring."

The same guide says Krea's free route gives you "100 compute units every day, no watermark, no card." So Krea makes the clip or the image, and for an ad where a presenter reads your script, you'd need another tool alongside it.

On Trustpilot, Krea scored 3.6 from 177 reviews when we read it on October 29, 2026. Half of those reviews gave five stars and a third gave one.

Five Krea alternatives for ad clips

Each of these can make a short clip you'd run as an ad, and every per-clip price below is for five seconds of video. Where they differ is the plan that lets you run it and what that plan costs.

Higgsfield, for Kling 3.0 clips on a small plan

For a visitor from Spain, Higgsfield's Starter plan was €19 a month for 270 credits, and it cost the same billed yearly. Higgsfield doesn't show every visitor the same lineup, and another set of its plans puts Starter at €15 for 200 credits. Our Higgsfield pricing guide maps which lineup you're likely to see.

Higgsfield's pricing page puts Kling 3.0 at 720p at about 7 credits a clip. On Starter, that's about €0.49 a clip, and a little more in the 200-credit lineup. Starter only reaches Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 2.0 Mini, though. The full Seedance lineup, Seedance 2.5 included, starts on Plus, which is €59 a month or €47 billed yearly.

Higgsfield's pricing table marks commercial use as included on Starter and every plan above it, and not on the free plan. Its help center, last updated September 12, 2026, says the terms don't tie commercial use to any plan. Free accounts do get a Higgsfield watermark on every generation, while paid plans come without one, so for ads we'd start on Starter either way.

We'd pick Higgsfield for short Kling 3.0 clips on the smallest plan that allows ads, and we'd move up to Plus only for Seedance 2.5. Our list of Higgsfield alternatives covers when you'd leave it.

Kling, for Kling's own models at the lowest monthly price

Kling sells its own models from its own app. Standard costs $8.8 a month for 660 credits. On October 29, Kling also offered the first month at $6.99, a first-purchase promotion with a countdown beside it.

Kling's VIDEO 3.0 guide, dated February 6, 2026, prices a 720p clip without native audio at 30 credits. That's 40 cents a clip on Standard, or about 32 cents in the promotional first month. Native audio raises the same clip to 45 credits, or 60 cents.

Kling's terms read differently depending on which set you open. Its general Terms of Service, last updated April 21, 2026, say that without Kling's written permission you may not use the output "for any commercial purposes." Its paid-membership terms, in effect from October 10, 2026, say "KLING AI members' use of the Output for commercial purposes is not restricted," and they give members the right to remove Kling's brand watermark. Kling's credit guide, dated July 28, 2026, adds that content made on the free Basic plan isn't for commercial use.

We'd treat commercial use on Kling as part of a paid membership, starting at Standard. We'd pick Kling when its own models are all you need and you want the smallest monthly bill. Our Kling alternatives post prices each option per second, and what a $0 Kling account gets you has its own post.

Runway, for cinematic shorts and ad testing

Runway's Standard plan costs $15 a month, or $12 billed yearly. Its 625 monthly credits buy 52 seconds of Gen-4.5, by Runway's own count. Gen-4.5 takes 60 credits a clip, so a clip is $1.44 billed monthly. Billed yearly, it's about $1.15.

Standard has no watermarks, and it includes Runway Ads, which Runway describes as a way to "generate, test and publish ads." Runway also says "you own your work on every plan, including the Free plan," although images made on the Free plan carry a small Runway watermark.

Runway sells Kling 4.0 too, at 118 credits a clip at 1080p. On October 29, a promotion took 25% off Kling 4.0 generations until November 30, which brought that clip to 89 credits. At the full rate, that's about $2.83 a clip on Standard.

We'd pick Runway for a cinematic short or a brand film that you want to test inside the same tool. Our Runway alternatives post prices six other tools per second.

OpenArt, for many models once you're on Plus

OpenArt's Starter plan costs $14 a seat a month, or $13 billed yearly. It comes with 4,000 credits a month and no watermark, but without commercial use rights. Those start on Plus, at $34 a month or $27 billed yearly. OpenArt's terms, last updated July 30, 2026, allow commercial use of what you generate from the Plus level up.

We couldn't find a per-clip credit cost on OpenArt's pages without an account. Its plan cards say Starter makes up to about 50 videos and Plus up to about 150, without a clip length, and its Seedance 2.5 page showed a sign-up prompt and no credit figure. On October 29, OpenArt also ran a promotion, 50% off Kling 4.0 generations on its Wonder and Pro plans until November 20.

We'd pick OpenArt for testing many models side by side, as long as you budget for Plus once the output runs as an ad. Our OpenArt alternatives post and our OpenArt pricing breakdown cover its plans in full.

Novoads, for Seedance 2.5 and scripted ads from $15

In Novoads, you write or paste a script and pick an AI actor to deliver it on camera, or you spend the same credits on video models such as Seedance 2.5 and Kling v3 Pro and on image models such as Nano Banana Pro. Starter costs $15 a month for 200 credits, billed monthly only, and every plan is paid from the first month.

Starter's credits go quickly on Seedance 2.5, so we'd expect weekly ad testing to need Plus. And we don't sell Kling 4.0, so if that's the model you want, Krea and Runway both have it.

We'd pick Novoads when you want Seedance 2.5 or Kling v3 Pro clips and talking-actor ads from one balance of credits.

How Novoads prices the same two clips

Both clips from the table, Seedance 2.5 and Kling v3 Pro, are on every Novoads plan from Starter up, and we charge each one in credits by model, length and resolution.

A Seedance 2.5 clip, made in Novoads

On September 21, 2026, we rendered a five-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 1080p in Novoads, from a one-line prompt about a woman in a bright kitchen who holds a small glass serum bottle toward the camera and smiles. It came back in 8 minutes 38 seconds. The render cost 60 credits.

Four frames from a five-second Seedance 2.5 clip made in Novoads, showing a woman in a bright kitchen who holds a small glass serum bottle with a gold cap toward the camera and smiles Seedance 2.5 · prompt: a woman in a bright kitchen holds a small glass serum bottle toward the camera and smiles · 5 s at 1080p, 9:16 · 60 credits · rendered 2026-09-21 in 8 min 38 s

At 720p, the default resolution, the same clip takes 35 credits, and its price depends on the plan.

  • About $2.63 on Starter.
  • About $1.72 on Plus, which is $49 a month for 1,000 credits.
  • About $1.37 on Plus billed yearly.
  • About $1.05 on Ultra 9,000 billed yearly, the lowest price per credit we sell.

Starter's 200 credits cover five of those clips a month.

What a Kling v3 Pro clip costs

A Kling v3 Pro clip takes 10 credits, with audio on by default. That's 75 cents on Starter and 49 cents on Plus. Billed yearly, Plus brings it to 39 cents.

Where a rival costs less per clip

On their own numbers, three rivals make some of these clips for less than we do.

  • Kling's own Standard plan makes a VIDEO 3.0 clip without native audio for about half what our Kling v3 Pro clip costs on Starter, though ours has audio on. With native audio, Kling's clip is 60 cents, still cheaper than our Starter price but dearer than our Plus price.
  • Higgsfield's Starter makes a 720p Kling 3.0 clip for less than our Starter price, too. We haven't converted the euros, so we won't call it level with our Plus price.
  • Krea Pro makes a 720p Seedance 2.5 clip for about $1.52 billed monthly, which beats our Starter and Plus prices. Billed yearly, Krea Pro's 91 cents beats every plan we sell, including our lowest at about $1.05.
  • Krea Basic's Kling 2.5 clip, at about 47 cents, costs less than our Kling v3 Pro clip on Starter and about the same as on Plus, on an older version of Kling.

Where we come out ahead is the price of entry. Krea sells Seedance 2.5 from $35 a month. Billed yearly, that's $21 a month, or $252 for the year. On our Starter plan, you can make Seedance 2.5 clips for $15 a month. Our FAQ says every video generated with Novoads is fully licensed for commercial use, and every plan is listed on our pricing page.

How to pick by the ad and the number of clips

By the ad you need

  • For Seedance 2.5 product clips, it's Krea or Novoads, and the number of clips you make decides which.
  • For Kling clips on the smallest bill, Kling's Standard is the pick, and Higgsfield's Starter adds Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 2.0 Mini on the same plan.
  • For a cinematic short you want to test as an ad, Runway's Standard plan includes the testing tool.
  • For trying many models in one place, OpenArt works once you're on Plus.
  • For an ad where an AI actor reads your script, use Novoads, since Krea's own guide says Krea has no avatar actors with lip-synced scripts.

By how many clips you make a month

For Seedance 2.5 at 720p, the number of clips you make each month decides between Krea and us, going by Krea's own counts and our credit prices.

  • Up to five clips, Novoads Starter at $15 is the cheaper plan.
  • From six to about 23 clips, Krea Pro at $35 is cheaper.
  • From 24 to 28 clips, our Plus plan at $49 is cheaper, because Krea would need Max.
  • From 29 to about 46 clips, Krea Max at $105 is cheaper than our next plan up.
  • Krea's table counts about 46 Seedance 2.5 clips on Max, its highest count, though by its units Max would cover about 69. Our Ultra 3,000 covers 85 clips for $129.

The same order holds billed yearly, up to 46 clips a month. For Kling clips on an entry plan, the monthly counts by each vendor's own figures run from about 19 to about 38.

  • About 38 Kling 3.0 clips at 720p on Higgsfield's Starter.
  • 22 VIDEO 3.0 clips at 720p without audio on Kling's Standard, or 14 with audio.
  • 20 Kling v3 Pro clips on Novoads Starter, or 100 on Plus.
  • About 19 Kling 2.5 clips on Krea Basic.

Before you cancel Krea

Use your units before the plan renews, since Basic, Pro and Max don't roll them over. If you paid for a year, read how Krea handles cancelling first, and our Krea pricing breakdown covers refunds and switching plans.

Then check that the plan you're moving to allows ads. That's Standard and up on Kling, Plus and up on OpenArt, Starter and up on Higgsfield, and every plan on Runway.

Before you move your ads, price one clip of the model you use most on the plan you'd actually buy, and then read what that plan's license allows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you use Krea videos in ads?

Yes, from the Basic plan up. Krea's pricing page says its Basic, Pro, Max, Business and Enterprise plans include a commercial license for all generated content, including marketing and advertising, and its comparison table leaves the license off the Free plan. Krea's Terms of Use, last updated May 20, 2024, are narrower, saying Krea 'may allow you to commercialize certain Content' and can change those terms. Indemnification against intellectual property claims comes only with Enterprise.
