Ideogram Pricing: What 2,400 Credits Buy, in Cents per Image

Ideogram Plus lists at $20 a month for 2,400 credits, before tax. We price one ad image on every plan from Ideogram's own credit rates, then show where Novoads costs more and where it costs less.

An ad image on Ideogram Plus costs about 8 to 18 cents

Ideogram's Plus plan lists at $20 a month before tax, with 2,400 credits. Spend every credit and one Nano Banana Pro image works out to about 11.2 cents. An Ideogram 4.5 image at High quality comes to about 8.3 cents, or about 18.3 cents once you attach a reference image such as a product photo. Billed yearly at $15 a month, each of those drops by a quarter, and lower quality settings cost less.

Search "ideogram pricing" and you won't find that math. We read nine of Google's top ten results on November 4, 2026 (a Medium article wouldn't open for us), and none of them prices one image on each plan. Two are also behind on the plans themselves. Metronome's pricing index was last updated March 27, 2026, and FutureStack's listing was last verified September 2, 2026. Both still show 1,000 credits for Plus and 3,500 for Pro, allowances Ideogram replaced in early October.

We didn't test Ideogram for this post. Its prices and credit rates come from its pricing page, help center and published rate list, read November 4, 2026, plus archive copies from early October. Its ratings come from public review pages, and the Novoads side comes from our own plan list and one run of ours.

What each Ideogram plan costs, monthly and yearly

Ideogram's plans page says it was last verified October 15, 2026, and it still showed these figures when we read it on November 4, 2026. Its FAQ and the cards on its pricing page show the same prices and allowances for the paid plans. These are all list prices in US dollars, before tax.

Before you pick yearly billing

Ideogram's pricing page opens on yearly billing, so the first price you see may be $15 when you expected $20. A few rules make that worth checking before you pay.

  • Yearly Plus charges $180 all at once, and the help page on switching plans tells you to double-check the billing period before you confirm.
  • Ideogram doesn't offer refunds, and its FAQ says you have to cancel at least 5 days before your renewal date.
  • Its pricing page says it offers no discounts or free trials on subscriptions.

A yearly plan doesn't give you 28,800 credits to spend whenever you like. Credits still arrive each month, and unused monthly credits don't roll over, so you can't save them up for a launch. The "Up to 33% off" on the pricing page is the Team figure. By our math, yearly billing takes 25% off Plus and 30% off Pro.

Pro, Team and the retired Basic plan

Pro costs three times as much as Plus on monthly billing and comes with a little over three times the credits, plus Batch Generation and a larger generation queue. Team has a minimum of 2 users. So the smallest Team costs $60 a month, or $40 a month billed yearly.

Each Team member gets their own 3,600 credits, and the help center says one member's unused credits can't move to another. We think that makes Pro the better deal for one heavy user. A two-seat Team costs the same $60 a month as Pro. But Pro gives one person 7,500 credits, while that Team gives each of two people 3,600.

Ideogram doesn't sell Basic anymore. If you already have it, you keep it, with 960 credits a month. Older pages may still list it, at $8 a month.

The allowances changed in early October

Ideogram raised its credit allowances without changing these prices. An archive copy of its pricing page from October 2, 2026, still shows the old numbers, and an archive copy of its help center from October 4, 2026, already shows the new ones.

PlanOctober 2, 2026 copyOctober 4, 2026 copy
Plus1,000 credits2,400 credits
Pro3,500 credits7,500 credits
Team1,500 per user3,600 per user

So a page that says 1,000 credits for Plus is out of date, and any per-credit math built on it is off by more than double. At the old allowance, $20 came to 2 cents a credit. At 2,400 credits it comes to about 0.83 cents. Ideogram's rate list dates its Nano Banana Pro rate September 18, 2026, before the change. At that rate, Plus went from about 74 images a month to about 178.

How each page describes free credits

Ideogram's help center says free accounts get 30 credits each week if they sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft, and accounts made with an email and password get none. Its pricing page says eligible free accounts receive weekly credits and "the amount may vary". That page doesn't have a Free column anymore, though an archive copy from October 2, 2026, does. We'd treat 30 as today's number and expect it could change.

On the free plan, Ideogram's own models start at their cheapest setting, which on Ideogram 4.5 is Low at 3 credits. So 30 credits buy 10 images at that setting. Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2 are premium models, which need a paid plan or bought credits. If you're after a Nano Banana image at no cost, Google has its own route, and we cover that separately.

Pay as you go, and where the pages disagree

You can skip the plans and buy credits as you need them.

  • One credit costs one US cent, and you can buy from $1 to $300 at a time.
  • Bought credits expire 365 days after purchase.
  • Pay as you go isn't open to accounts with an active subscription. A subscriber can still buy extra credits, and those get spent only after the monthly ones run out.

Ideogram's pages don't agree on what you get this way. We read both of these on November 4, 2026.

  • The comparison table on the pricing page marks private generations and quality export as included for pay as you go.
  • The help center says PNG needs a paid plan, and that "Without one (including pay as you go), you can download JPEG at the original size, and transparent images as PNG at 1K." It names only Plus, Pro, Team and Enterprise as keeping new images private.

We'd plan around the help center's stricter wording until your own account shows otherwise, because an ad for an unreleased product shouldn't rest on the friendlier reading.

Before you subscribe, it's worth asking when a plan actually beats that flat cent. At a cent a credit, $20 buys 2,000 credits. So monthly Plus only saves you money once you use more than that in a month, which is about 149 Nano Banana Pro images. Yearly Plus breaks even at 1,500 credits, or about 112 images. And top-up credits last a year, while plan credits last a month.

Tax, currency and the App Store

Ideogram's pricing FAQ says tax is added at checkout based on your billing address, and its invoices page says it adds VAT, GST or sales tax where the law requires it. If your card uses another currency, the same page says your bank converts the amount and may add a fee. We read these pages from Spain, and every price showed in US dollars. But we didn't go through checkout, so we can't tell you the final charge in your country.

The App Store has its own prices, and Ideogram says Apple handles the billing there. On November 4, 2026, the US store listed Plus Monthly at $28.99 and Plus Annual at $274.99. The German store listed them at 29,99 € and 299,99 €. Neither listing says how many credits those prices buy. Both still show a Basic plan, which Ideogram says it no longer sells, so they may be out of date.

What 2,400 credits buy, model by model

Each image costs a set number of credits, depending on the model, the quality and sometimes the size. The credit table on Ideogram's pricing page never finished loading when we read it, so these rates come from the rate list Ideogram publishes for that table, as it stood on November 4, 2026. The list dates the Nano Banana Pro rates September 18, 2026, and the Ideogram 4.5 rates September 28, 2026. If you want to check them yourself, the help center points you to Settings → Usage costs, and it says the run button in most image apps shows the cost before you start.

A reference image doesn't change what Low or Medium costs on Ideogram 4.5. At High it takes an image from 10 credits to 22, which puts it above Nano Banana Pro. We didn't test whether Medium holds up for a product ad, so try it on your own product before you pay for High. Nano Banana 2 costs less than Nano Banana Pro on Ideogram, and we don't sell that model.

What one credit is worth

Ideogram's pages disagree here too. Its Ad Resizer page says "Each in-app credit equals USD $0.02", and its extra-credits page says "One credit costs one US cent." We're going with the extra-credits page, because the rate list and the Ideogram 4.5 model page both price a 10-credit image at $0.10.

Ideogram's own models make four images a run

The help center says Ideogram's own models make 4 images a run by default, while GPT Image and Nano Banana make 1. It also gives High as the default quality for Ideogram 4.5 on paid plans. Leave both settings alone and one run costs 40 credits. That's $0.40 at a cent a credit. Plus's 2,400 credits last 60 of those runs. You can set the count anywhere from 1 to 8, and the Generate button shows the total.

One image in dollars on each plan

We divided each plan's list price by its credits, then applied the rates above. The Nano Banana Pro column is at 1K or 2K, and the GPT Image 2 column is Ideogram's estimate at medium quality and 1024 x 1024.

Team yearly0.556 cents$0.0747$0.0556$0.1222$0.0298

Every plan row assumes you spend the whole allowance before renewal, because unused monthly credits don't roll over. Use half of Plus and each image costs twice as much. Top-ups and pay as you go stay at a flat cent a credit. In a personal workspace, the help center says, the API and the app share one balance, and API calls spend monthly plan credits first. All of these prices are before tax.

What the unlimited slow queue doesn't cover

The plan cards on the pricing page list their allowance as "priority credits" beside "Unlimited slow credits", and the help pages just say credits. The help center explains that on Plus, Pro and Team you can keep generating with Ideogram's own models after your credits run out, in a slower queue. It also says "Custom models, partner models, reference images, image edits and upscales still need credits."

For an ad maker, that leaves out most of what you'd want from the queue.

  • Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image are partner models, so they never use the slower queue.
  • An Ideogram 4.5 image made from your product photo never uses it either.
  • You can't choose the queue to stretch your credits, since the FAQ says generations use your credits while you have any.

For product ads, we think the credit allowance is the real limit on these plans.

The GPT Image rows are estimates

Ideogram bills GPT Image by tokens at OpenAI's list price, so its credit figures are estimates for a short prompt and one output image. It says each input image adds about US $0.008, so a product-photo ad on GPT Image 2 costs a little more than the table shows. Our GPT Image 2 pricing post has OpenAI's own prices and ours, and GPT Image 2.5 has a post of its own. Credits also pay for video, which Ideogram bills per second, but we've kept this post to still images.

One Nano Banana Pro image on Ideogram and on Novoads

Both companies sell Nano Banana Pro, so it's the one model we can price exactly side by side. In Novoads, an image costs 2 credits at 1K or 2K and 4 credits at 4K. Starter is $15 a month for 200 credits, monthly only. Plus is $49 a month for 1,000 credits. Billed annually, it's $39 a month. Our monthly credits don't roll over either, so the use-every-credit assumption holds on our side too. Prices as of November 4, 2026.

Where Ideogram costs less

  • Our Starter, at $0.15 an image, costs more than every Ideogram option in that table, including the flat cent rate.
  • Our Plus on monthly billing, at $0.098, costs more than all three of Ideogram's yearly plans.

If Nano Banana Pro images are all you need and you'll use most of your credits, we think Ideogram's yearly Pro or Team is the better buy, at about 7.5 cents an image.

Where Novoads costs less

  • Our Plus, at $0.098, comes in under Ideogram's flat cent rate and all three of its monthly plans.
  • Billed annually, at $0.078, it's also under Ideogram's yearly Plus at $0.084, but it's still a little over yearly Pro and yearly Team.
  • Only our Ultra billed annually goes under those two. On Ultra 3,000 that's $0.066 an image, at $99 a month.

At 4K the gaps shift a little, so read that column if you export large files.

On GPT Image 2, Ideogram mostly costs less

We charge 1 credit for GPT Image 2 at low or medium, at any size we offer. At medium and 1024 x 1024, Ideogram's estimate is 5.37 credits. That's $0.0537 at a cent a credit. So our Plus, at $0.049, beats only that flat rate, and every Ideogram plan comes in under ours. Billed annually, at $0.039, it's under Ideogram's monthly plans and over its yearly ones. At low quality, Ideogram's estimate is 0.69 credits. That's under a cent an image, while we still charge a full credit.

We don't sell Ideogram 4.5 or Nano Banana 2, so we have no price of our own to put beside those rows.

Commercial use, privacy and watermarks

What the pages say about ads

Ideogram's pricing FAQ says "We do not claim ownership of your generated images, and you're free to use them for any purpose, including commercial use." Its terms, last revised August 14, 2024, say it doesn't restrict you from using your output "for your own purposes (including for commercial purposes)". The help center is more careful. It says the answer depends on the terms, tells you to read them "before you use images commercially" and adds that you're responsible for not breaking laws or other people's rights. We read those together as permission, with the checking left to you. So go through the terms before you run an ad on these images.

Free-plan images are public

On the free plan, everything you generate is public. Plus, Pro, Team and Enterprise keep new images private until you publish them. The terms give other users the right to use, reproduce and modify content you post, and that right doesn't apply to content you keep private. We think that rules out the free plan for a product you haven't launched.

Watermarks

We found no rule on Ideogram's pages, read November 4, 2026, that says whether it adds a watermark to your images. The one mention we found is in its terms, which bar you from removing "any watermarks included on any User Output". So check an export from your own plan before you count on clean files.

Open weights have their own license

Ideogram calls 4.0 its first open-weight model, in a post dated June 3, 2026, and our post on V4.0q covers the model itself. The public weights are free to download for research, evaluation and personal projects under Ideogram's non-commercial agreement. Commercial self-hosting starts at $300 a month for 10,000 images a month. That's 3 cents an image before you pay for your own hardware, so we'd only consider it if you already run your own GPUs.

Ideogram's ratings, and the one we couldn't read

We looked at three rating pages on November 4, 2026.

  • Trustpilot showed Ideogram AI at 3.8 from 168 reviews. Five-star reviews made up 68% of them and one-star reviews 20%, and Trustpilot's own note says "This company hasn't invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative".
  • The US App Store showed the app at 4.8 from 2,693 ratings.
  • G2's page wouldn't open for us, so we can't give you its rating.

Since Ideogram doesn't offer refunds, we'd read a split like that as a reason to look through recent reviews before you pay for a year.

Where Novoads fits, and when we'd buy Ideogram instead

Novoads is an AI ad tool, paid from the first month, where one credit balance pays for product photos, video ads, talking actors and voiceovers. Our pricing page lists every plan and its credit count.

We priced one run of ours the same way. On October 20, 2026, one Nano Banana Pro call through our MCP connector made the four ads below. They're 4:5 at 2K, and they show an unlabeled amber candle jar on a limestone ledge. We asked for the headline "Light it. Slow down." and a small line of product details, and both came back legible on all four. Ideogram's developer docs describe its own models as "known for prompt fidelity and crisp typography", so a readable headline is the fair thing to show from our side.

Four 4:5 static ads of an amber candle jar with a wooden lid on a limestone ledge beside a linen towel, each with the headline Light it. Slow down.

Made in Novoads with Nano Banana Pro · one call, four 4:5 statics at 2K with a legible headline · 8 credits · 2026-10-20

The run cost 8 credits. That's $0.60 on Starter and $0.392 on Plus. Four Nano Banana Pro images on Ideogram come to 53.76 credits. That's $0.5376 at a cent a credit and $0.336 on yearly Plus. These are images made in Novoads, and we didn't run this brief through Ideogram's models. If you want to write your own, our Nano Banana prompts post goes through Google's official examples.

When we'd buy Ideogram

  • We'd buy a yearly Ideogram plan if most of your ads are still images, you want Ideogram 4.5 or the lowest Nano Banana Pro price, and you'll use most of your credits.
  • For a few images a month, we'd top up at a cent a credit and skip the plan, as long as the help center's limits on privacy and PNG don't get in your way.

When we'd buy Novoads

We'd buy Novoads if stills are only part of what you need. The same credits also make video ads with AI actors. The Plus card on our pricing page shows its credits as 500 Nano Banana Pro generations or up to 25 UGC videos a month.

One balance for your image and video ads

Novoads plans start with 200 credits a month, and a Nano Banana Pro image costs 2 of them at 1K or 2K. Every plan is on the pricing page.

Compare Novoads plans

Before you pay Ideogram for a year, count how many images you actually make in a month. Below about 112 Nano Banana Pro images a month, even yearly Plus costs more than topping up at a cent a credit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ideogram AI free?

Ideogram has a free plan with limits. Its help center says free accounts get 30 credits a week if they sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft, and accounts made with an email and password get none. Its pricing page says the amount may vary. Everything you generate on the free plan is public, and premium models such as Nano Banana Pro need a paid plan or bought credits. We read those pages on November 4, 2026.

What does Ideogram AI do?

Ideogram is an AI image generator. Its own models make images from a prompt and optional reference images, and it calls Ideogram 4.5 its most capable model for design work and precise editing. Its Image app also runs partner models such as Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2, and there are other apps, such as Ad Resizer and Video. All of them cost credits.

Is Ideogram open source?

Partly. Ideogram calls 4.0 its first open-weight model, and its licensing page lists Apache 2.0 inference code on GitHub. The public weights are free for research, evaluation and personal projects under a non-commercial agreement, so commercial use needs a license. Self-hosting commercially starts at $300 a month for 10,000 images a month. Ideogram's page for 4.5 offers that model through its app, MCP and the API.

Can I use Ideogram images in ads?

Ideogram's pricing page says you're free to use your images for any purpose, including commercial use, and its terms, last revised August 14, 2024, don't restrict commercial use of your output. Its help center is more careful, saying it depends on the terms and telling you to read them first. Free-plan images are public, so we'd keep an unreleased product off that plan.

Key Takeaways

  • Ideogram lists Plus at $20 a month with 2,400 credits. Pro is $60 with 7,500. Team is $30 per user with 3,600 per user. Billed yearly, Plus is $15 a month and Pro is $42. Team is $20 per user. All of these are in US dollars, before tax.
  • Spend every credit on monthly Plus and one Nano Banana Pro image works out to about 11.2 cents. An Ideogram 4.5 High image is about 8.3 cents, or about 18.3 cents with a reference image.
  • Ideogram's own models make 4 images a run by default and use High on paid plans, so an Ideogram 4.5 run on the default settings costs 40 credits. Plus's 2,400 credits last 60 of those runs.
  • For one Nano Banana Pro image at 1K or 2K, our Starter, at $0.15, costs more than every Ideogram option. Our Plus, at $0.098, is under Ideogram's monthly plans and over its yearly ones.
  • The unlimited slow queue covers only Ideogram's own models, and it doesn't cover reference images or partner models such as Nano Banana Pro. A page that still says 1,000 credits for Plus is out of date, because Ideogram raised the allowance in early October 2026.
